Erislandy Lara is the top dog at 154lbs; if the Golovkin fight, which would be massive for him, doesn't present itself, why would he leave 154, where he's already on top and there's action for him at least 5-6 fighters deep?

Lara is a beast , he's got the skills to pay the bills. Lara wants all the big names all the best fighters all the big money fights unlike the coward GGG who is all talk only , with a pathetic resume(cause of ducking). Jacobs says you have to get through him to get to GGG , well so be it , Lara wants Jacobs too. The 154 pound division fear Lara too. No one fears Golovkin(media creation) he's turned down more then half a dozen big names. He doesn't want to face the best fighters after all. BJS is fighting on the Canelo/Smith undercard. Maybe against Tureano Johnson, Curtis Stevens, David Lemieux or Gabe Rosado (though Gabe's the only one not rated by the WBO).

The WBO announced an eliminator between Khurtsidze and Tommy Langford (BJS promotional stablemate). But Langford has a fight this month first, then probably fight Khurtsidze in the fall, so the mandatory for the title won't be til next year.
