People like to think of Kovalev as just a puncher but in the pascal rematch he gave pascal a schooling in the art of boxing and a beatdown. If Ward dares enter the ring with Kovalev in 2016 he will take a beating.

I've seen all I needed in the Hopkins fight. Ward's not gonna clinch-game Kov, not a chance especially considering he's the smaller, weaker man in this fight. He will have some success with counters but Kovalev will eventually find the mark repeatedly and it will become a beating later in the fight, I believe late TKO. Now when has Ward ever beaten a fighter as dynamic, dangerous and much bigger like Kovalev, please?

Have you ever seen them fight? Ward is in a completely different league. This is not a schoolyard fight, this is boxing, and skills mean more than power. Ward is leagues above Kovalev in both skills and speed.

I think this fight will be close till around round 6-7

            Ward dissects his opponents

also he could get caught early, buzzed or even dropped

fighters like Ward get a reality check when they get hit with shots they feel they shouldnt get hit with and disarm their opponents

Even showing a little rust, his catch and counterjabs and rights was beautiful vs Barrera

Kov is probably the best boxer puncher in the game, he is pretty accurate but He hasnt dealt with a counterpuncher and fighter who adapts mid fight like ward

Ward wont shell up just cause he got caught a few times, obviously he has the wil to win considering he hasnt lost since his peach fuzz started sprouting

I see a close but clear decision where 7-12 is mostly Ward clearly winning

7-5 or 8-4...competitive but clear winner

I believe we'll see the emergence of previously unseen abilities and higher fighting levels as both Kovalev and Ward are pushed to their limits.

Kovalev will take an early lead. Ward will come on stronger in the later rounds, but I cannot say whether he can eclipse Kovalev or not. It will be a hard battle.

Pascal is a 175 version of shane mosely

fights in spurts, has impressive speed and power but isnt consistent with his punch out put, he doesnt establish a jab and instead of parrying the right hand, slipping it to his left or dipping under it, or roll it with his lead shoulder, he leans to the right...EVERYTIME.....Thats a bad habit especially against someone who specializes in throwing straight shots like Pascal

Ward is another level of fighter to Pascal...he knows all the nuances and has a good offense as well, He transitions from offense to defense seemlessly whereas with a fighter like Pascal its either one thing or the other

Kovalev is way more creative offensively than the two robots Froch and Kessler. While he doesn't share their size advantage he's certainly quicker. It is a fight that favors Ward as Kovalev seems to have these haywire moments where he loses balances chasing after his opponent. Still I'd give him a great shot at KOing Ward. It might play out like the NBA Finals where LeBron just overpowered Curry (Ward's favorite).

Dont know about that but I do lean on Ward.

He's got to be on his absolute A game though.
