I don't think it even matters anymore. Golovkin fans are content with the idea of him being a monster ducked by everyone. They will live with that, instead of him making some actual, in ring achievements. So be it. Golovkin will fight the current crop of MWs willing to fight him while waiting and holding out for a Canelo fight that may or may not happen. He had a chance to be ranked among the greats, but it wasn't what they wanted. It's best everyone moves on. At least we will get Kov vs. Ward. This year. I think that's a more even sided fight anyways.

Still beating a dead horse, eh? Same arguments, same group debating same ****, same result.

Why can't you just say both avoided the fight for legit reasons?

So Golden Boy would know full well that GGG couldnt face Canelo after Lemieux, so they would simply tell the WBC that they were ready to do their mando. The fact that it would be a lie is irrelevant, because Golden Boy would know that it would result in GGG being stripped due to him being "unavailable", so it would never even get to bid.
        .
Canelo-Ggg purse bid would be in January. Per WBC rules, fight has to take place within 90 days, which is April. Set preliminary Ward date in July/August. Zero conflict. Golden Boy has no leverage. As soon as Canelo vacates or step aside deal is agreed to, Ward fight can be moved down to an earlier month if they choose. Not complicated.

Or keep the August date and fight Wade before if that fight is really ridiculously that important to him.

Yep, they could've forced Canelo to vacate. Fought Wade for the mandatory. And set up a fight with Ward. But they never even sent a counter offer. That's the part that gets me. Now Canelo is doing the same thing to GGG. Telling GGG I'm not fighting you but I'll see how I feel in 2017. GGG fans yelled and screamed for TWO YEARS for Cotto to either fight GGG or give up the belt. After Canelo picked Khan they yelled and screamed for Canelo to either give up the belt or fight GGG. He gave up the belt and they're still salty.

Not because he's afraid of Jacobs but they know if they pressure the WBA to call the mandatory it's going to purse bid.
Ward is no better known than Jacobs and was coming off a dismal match with Paul Smith that was watched by only 300k on BET when he sent that offer to Loeffler.

If GGG had accepted it he would not have the WBC belt and all the publicity that came with it, or the $800k step aside he got from Cotto, and would still be kicking his heels waiting for Ward to be ready to fight him. There is no doubt at all that he made the right decision turning it down.

Lil G fanboys are the biggest hypocrites in the sport. Always b1tching n moaning about Canelo and how he owes them the Lil G fight. These dumbf*ks, have the audacity to put down Canelo's next opponent in Liam Smith an actual "World Champion" while praising Lil G taking on his 3rd prospect in 4 fights. This shows you how bias they truly are towards their hero Lil G. His team keeps saying how nobody wants to fight him but you have a fellow champion in Lara that calls Lil G bluff and instead of accepting the challenge Lil G chooses to fight a prospect, what a joke

jesus christ man are you ******ed? THERE WOULD BE NO PURSE BID. Golovkin's "1 interim fight" would have been Lemieux on 10-17-15. Cotto-Canelo took place on 11-21-15. On 11-22-15 Oscar would have called the WBC and said he was ready to do the mando. GGG would not have been able to negotiate the fight or participate in the purse bid because his NEXT fight he would have been already obligated to Ward. So GGG would have been stripped of the WBC interim title.

This is insane. You guys are like my 4 year old nephew who sticks his fingers in his ears and says "la la la la I cant hear you". You dont have the slightest idea what you are talking about.

But you know what? Believe what you want. If you want to believe Golden Boy would not have siezed the opportunity to get rid of GGG as their mando, then fine, believe it. Im done.........

Ward didn know about the Leimux fight and the conditions in the contract would have changed if they simply spoke and negotiated to accommodate the situation. Christ, I don't why you're acting as if it was some impossible obstacle. You went from telling everyone Ward wanted the fight in 15 months to Ward only wanting to fight immediately or nothing. It's hilarious.
