Like I always say, most serious crime in boxing is ducking. Crime pays. Ducking pays. it's the very reason why the two Danny's, businessmen Garcia and Jacobs are now one-fight-a-year fighters. They knew they'll recoup their loses eventually. Boxing has become a joke and you can thank Mayweather for that.

If boxing fans want to apply pressure on Canelo, don't buy Canelo vs. Liam Smith! If Canelo can get a sold out venue in Las Vegas and 700K PPVs, why would he be in a rush to fight GGG? Canelo has plenty of talent to choose from @ 154 after Liam too! Andrade, Charlo twins, J-Rock, etc. This is why I thought GGG should have accepted the 155, and then forced Canelo to walk away from that. That would've damaged Canelo for good!

It backfired gave Golden Boy the excuse to say F these idiots we will throw this belt in the trash because Canelo was NEVER a middleweight in the first place and will go down 1 single pound and become world champ again at 154 which is really where he belongs anyway. Meanwhile GGG is azzz out with no options at 160 and 34 years old running out of time. Canelo is only 25 and can fight anyone he wants on HIS TERMS at 154 and make a boat load of money. It was on GGG to make sacrifices to get the big fish not Canelo to give away advantages. GGG needs Canelo always has not the other way around. It took 5 pounds to get the mega fight now if he had better management around him they would of told him take that instead of waste more years of this guy's prime waiting for a big fight.

Rigo can be labeled as boring. Some of his fights have been boring to death. And I'm telling you this as his fan. So, yes, he's avoided, he's an amazing fighter, but also sometimes he can put you to sleep while you watch his fights. Anyway, that doesn't justify the ducking.

GGG puts eveyone KO. Not comparable. And GGG is not paying peanuts. It depends on your level. Jacobs has been offered 1 or 1.5 millions. How is that peanuts when you are Danny "the miracle man" Jacobs?

Then he shouldn't have said all those things after Cotto, Khan (I'll fight him right now, Ill fight him at 160, Mexicans don't fcuk around etc) and should have vacated on the spot after Cotto, or better yet made it a non title affair. He should also declare he's moving down so he's finally stripped of that champ status by the Ring, tbrb, here etc.

Canelo clearly went to the Mayweather business school of boxing. Mayweather's right about one thing: Boxing is a business, but what he's forgetting is that the fans make it or break it. For him & Pacquiao to delay fighting while prime, only to produce a record-breaking fight in terms of money & dissatisfaction, is shameless & gave boxing a black eye. With each passing day, I'm glad Floyd's retired, & hope he never, ever comes back.

Yes, and what happened to Donaire after that loss? if you're really top5 P4P you don't disappear from the rankings. Look at Pacquiao, he lost some times and was still P4P. Anyway that was just one fight.

Put Canelo in the ring with GGG and you'll see something similar.

There's not many people that know boxing so the networks target those that don't. And hell, whether you know boxing or not, watching him vs Agbeko or that last bum was unbearable

One of the most annoying things about fight fans is their hypocrisy and double standards when it comes to their favs, and/or fighters they dislike. And I've probably been guilty of it a time or two myself. All players play the risk/reward game. And when its one of our favs, some fans turn in to private investigators/defense attorneys in order to justify the move and save face for our favs. But when our favs become victims of the risk/reward game, we stand on the highest mountain we can find shouting injustice. And glory, legacy, blah, blah, blah.

The fact is, GGG has been avoided. But he's also done some avoiding himself. Everyone knows his team didn't want the Ward fight right now. Is GGG scared of Ward? Nope. Is Ward a risky fight that's not gonna pay much more than much easier fights? Yep. Which is why it makes business sense not to do that fight. Lara's arguably the top guy at 54, depending on how you saw the Canelo fight. So legacy-wise, there's really no difference between fighting Lara or Canelo. GGG wants Canelo because of the payday. Is he scared of Lara? Nope. Is their risk that even in victory, GGG could be made to look very ordinary and derail some of the indestructible aura he has now? Yep. Hence, Lara's not a good risk/reward move.

On the flipside. GGG isn't a big enough star to generate suitable paydays for some of the guys he wanta to fight to get in with him. Canelo can essentially d1ck around with the Khans, Smiths, etc and make close to the same amount of money he could make with GGG without taking half the risk. He's also likely looking big picture and is probably waiting to see if Floyd and/or Manny is gonna come back. And if they do, he's clearly #1 on their list. A GGG fight could derail that. So why risk it. You also have a guy like Saunders that can make good money fighting at home, against much lighter competition. You also have a guy like Danny Jacobs that probably wants to ride the cancer patient to world champion storyline out a lil longer.

At the end of the day, it sux. But as fans, we can't conveniently change the rules and demands based on who we like and don't. I mean really. Is GGG avoided? Yep. But he's not close to being as avoided as Rigondeaux. And a lotta the same people that b1tch about GGG being avoided. Applaud Rigo being avoided. I'm still waiting on a logical explanation of how that makes sense.

Great Post... Unfortunately, it will fall on deaf ears with Lil G fanboys. They fail to comprehend that for Canelo the risk/reward for fighting Lil G ain't worth it... But they will call it a duck even thought Lil G next rumor opponent is another prospect instead of an actual champ like Lara.

He said day 1 I'll fight him now at my weight and said I don't care about no belt. He said I'll fight him at 160 but never said right now at 160 (hence GGG now having to wait till Canelo grows to 160). GGG wasn't man enough to drop 5 pounds to get the fight NOW even though he's been saying for years he would go to 154 for a big fight and made similar Catchweight demands on Ward AFTER he also said he would go to 168. So now he's stuck in this situation.

Canelo should of vacated that belt immediately hell Cotto could of saved both of them some ridicule and vacated that belt. Neither are middleweights. But please don't think Canelo catching some heat now will change anything. I have NEVER seen any fighter get bashed more on social media then Floyd did. And not for a few months I'm talking about for years. And it never ONCE effected his paycheck still made big fights and when Manny was FINALLY ready to come to terms with Floyd being the A side and meeting his demands the fight got made. Trying to publicly pressure Floyd didn't work. And GGG doing the same with the 160 weight which he, his promoter and trainer said will NEVER happen is what killed this fight. It was never realistic to think Canelo the new cash cash in boxing who has never fought above 155 was going to jump up to 160 just because GGG said so especially when he refuses to do so for Ward and others.
