Look at McClellan's resume on boxrec. He had 34 fights, look at his first 29 opponents, it makes Deontay Wilder's resume look impressive. When he fought an old Mugabi, he was still fighting guys with a 16-10 and 12-17 records. 80% of his opponents were coming off a loss. Yeah he looked scary, he was fighting really weak opposition. But we have guys today saying Golovkin is fabricated after he's beating top 10 MW like nothing, and then these fools say he's nothing compared to the great G-Man. They need to look at McClellan more closely. Despite his enormous talent, he was a Don King production.
I dont look at ko ratio....it is a mirage

I look at the ability to seperate a fighter from their senses with one punch

In that sense he was scarier....he knocked guys cold....so did Benn

they were faster, threw in combination and had more one punch knockouts

I think its very disrespectful to these other pro fighters, saying they are ALL scared of this guy like he is some monster and he is simply not

they want to get paid...boxing is prizefighting, its a business and im sorry you got to e simple as hell if you think its just the other fighters being scared.

McClellan was ko'ing guys in that fashion b/c they were mid-level journeyman. He was truly fighting some appalling opposition for his time. He had incredible talent, and King was matching him with guys that didn't even belong in the ring with him for sparring. It's one of the reasons the Benn incident happened, he wasn't prepared to handle someone like that.

As far as the term 'afraid' goes, it's a loose term. Guys clearly don't want to fight Golovkin, it why they vacate titles like Alvarez and N'Dam have done, why they pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to sanctioning body to hold off the fight like Sturm and Cotto, and why they astronomically price themselves out of a Golovkin asking for $4-$5 million like Quillin and Saunders.

Back when Barker was undefeated, Golovkin made an offer to fight him in the UK for free (they just wanted Eastern Euro tv rights). Hearn giddily accepted, but Barker's trainer said no way. It's on video. This is what Golovkin has to deal with. Many fighters and/or their teams are afraid/reluctant/unwilling to fight him unless they can retire off the money.

How do you justify Jacobs and Quillin being willing to face each other for $1.5mill, but both are insisting on more than double that to fight Golovkin? It's insane that you feel the need to blame Golovkin for that.

My ignore list has grown to the point where I go into some threads and it's just a list of names with no content. Strangely this seems to happen quite a bit in Golovkin-related threads. A lot those posters seem to be dedicated to being in every Golovkin thread there is, even starting many of there own about Golovkin.

lets be real....Wade, Odama, Rosado and company didnt belong in the ring with GGG....McClellan fought overmatched guys until he fought Jackson and Benn...Has GGG been in with anyone on their level? Hell no.

taking shots from a puncher like Julian Jackson and top notch kronk wars in the gym didnt help him for Benn either.

fighting Wades, Rosados, and Rubios of the world wasnt preparation for a Froch or Ward at 168 and it could have ended with him taking an L. Thats wh GGG is staying put at 160.

I just stated my opinion...GGG is not being ducked as much as people say, and being honest. I just dont see anything special about him

He is a good overall fighter and thats it at the moment.

I'm not blaming GGG of anything. I asked a simple question. Is K2 part of the reason he cant get legit, top rated opponents in the ring?

I believe its a little deeper than them pricing themselves out, ducking him or being scared.

If its two top rated guys fighting, of course you want to have your noticeably best pay day

Yeah, i experienced the same lately. These posters do basically nothing than trying to discredit GGG, hate GGG and put blame on him or his fans.

Basically very sad existences in life. If they are ignored they might give up and think about what the f.. they are actually doing and get back to reality.

You should just stop arguing with most of these people regarding ggg. For some odd reason they're just not seeing it the way 90% of the people sees it. Imagine if ggg ask to be "compensated fairly" or he wont take those fights, the same people would crucify him.

They expect ggg to fight for free and bend over backwards to make the fights happen like fight with 20 oz gloves and have the ring the size of a basketball court. I can see people blame ggg if canelo made those demands and hth doesn't accept it.
