Thurman took 11 and 12 which won him the fight. That's where it makes it difficult to score or for Porter.

I had it 115-113 Porter. 7-5.
Rounds 3, 5, 8 i had to watch multiple times they were so close. Alot of rounds were close but these were the hardest rounds too me.
Round 3- Porter was more aggressive threw more but Thurman landed some really hard shots and landed the best shot at the end to steal it imo
Round 5- Again Porter threw and landed more while Thurman landed some really nice hard shots but i gave a slight edge to Porters activity because Thurman didnt hurt him. Porter had some really nice body shots.
Round 8- Mostly dofficult because the commentary would have you believe Thurman rallied late after Porter hurt him to the body but if you watch closely Porter was landing just as hard at the end.
Very close and fun fight. This will be one of my favorite fights to watch. The stakes were highest as we look for somebody to step up and replace Floyd and Manny at #1 at 147 and these 2 men put on a show. We definitely need to run this back. Only way there shouldnt be a rematch immediately is if Thurman were to fight Brook, Garcia, Manny or Floyd. If hes not fighting any of these men he needs to settle this score with Porter.Comment

The thing is even the work Porter was doing, it was very scrappy, he barely landed anything clean, so he wasn't exactly dominating rounds, a few flush single shots from Thurman were highlights from each roundToo many people ignored Porter rounds because Keith landed a couple good hooks at the end of a round. This happened in several rounds and I saw people's scoring in the main thread. If someone is expecting Keith to win, observing something dramatic at the end of the round persuades them to give him the round, even if Porter just did two and a half minutes of good work.
Thurman and Porter could fight 50 times and it would always be a close, competitive fight. I hope we see this fight again some day, but not next.Last edited by John Locke; 06-26-2016, 03:49 PM.Comment

Thurman by 2 but if Porter can increase his over all accuracy and get a teacher to show him how to fight inside he would be beating most of the top ten.
He simply has no clue how to work inside he has no knowledge of step overs or pivots or how to work under/over.
It's nice to see a good father/son team but it's past time to bring in someone to teach what the father doesn't know.
Thurman could use the same lessons on the inside too!
The top pros today box like amateurs and thats why you get all this movement without substance.

I'm not going to re watch this but scored the fight for Porter.
I actually had it (not 7-5 as I voted) 6-5-1 for Porter, with the 5th being even. It could have been a Porter or Thurman round, so I'm not too pissed about a Thurman decision but it's pretty clear the fans in attendance knew who'd won.
Anyway, fun fight, both guys gave it their all and for me, it didn't show me anything new.
Porter is still basic but determined and an absolute bull.
Thurman is not supremely skilled nor does he hit all that hard.Comment
