I agree with Mayweather. Canelo is still a 154 pounder and no 160 pounder in the world can beat GGG. Canelo would very likely have been KOed by GGG and what good would that do for his career? The only mistakes Canelo made were not vacating the WBC middleweight crown the day he won it from Cotto and saying he would fight GGG right after he KOed Khan.

Mayweather's right from a business perspective. Everyone knows GGG would beat Canelo, the best outcome would be if he lost by decision. In today's boxing landscape a loss derails a fighter's popularity and income. I don't support it, but GBP protecting their cash cow is understandable.
