It just doesn't stop at PBC though. Boxing in general needs to change. Something needs to be created to move the sport forward. Some sort of change with contracts and the way that fights are set up.

I was at a Dave & Busters watching the Canelo - Khan fight and some random person walking past with his friends looked and said out loud, "Boxing's still a sport?" It was funny to me at the time, but it made me realize just how much people don't care about boxing at all. It's such a forgotten sport!

There's too many meaningless main event cards floating around from everything. From PBC to HBO, boxing so far this year has been very lack luster compared to the last few years.

It would be very sad if the PBC fails. It would mean that we would see less "Free TV' and more PPVs. Subscription TV and PPVs are not going to build the sport. When American kids were interested in boxing, was when Americans viewed boxing on network TV. American kids don't have to watch the NBA Finals on PPV. They don't watch the World Series on Showtime. They don't watch the Super Bowl on HBO! Why should boxing be different?

A boxing outfit willing to go out on a limb and give more access to fans with a chance of growing the sport is hurting it. Is this for real ?

No one was cheering when Lara / Zavexk got made but that garbage fight on ESPN was a better match up then anything FNF put on in how long. My bad the historic fight of Monroe / Vera was the stuff that makes legends, it gave Willie a chance to get destroyed against Gennady

Has one writer written on the public Executions that happen on HBO. I mean I know everyone stopped what they were doing to watch the epic match ups of
            GGG / Wade
            GGG / Monroe
            Kovalev / French Plumber
            Crawford / Jean
            Crawford / Lundy
            Ortiz / Thompson
Verdejo / anyone he's faced on HBO
Mayfield / forget the guys name
Chocolito / Anyone he's faced on HBo

Literally HBo serves up 75% sh.it unless it's PPV but it's just crickets like what upcoming fights have they announced
Ward / Brand = Birderline garbage
            Kov / Chilemba = Decent
            Fury / Klit = Good

their only great fight is PPV in Postol / Crawford

This is one of the problem with boxing , is the media they love to tear it down You wouldn't read any of this deprecating writing in the UFC, NBA, NHL with the reporters that cover the sport

Not saying the PBc is above critique , obviously some match ups suck balls, a more consistent schedule would Probably help, The production team could use some work but F.uck at least their trying to give fans competitive fights on a accessible platform.
I just realized PBC articles are click bait. No new information ever comes out. But put PBC in the headline and people will click the article. Search PBC and hundreds of articles will come up. Search HBO Boxing budget problems and see what get.....

PBC is what it is. It's either going to succeed or fail. We'll find out within a year. And we'll also find out who knows what they're talking about and who should stick to writing about boxing instead of business.

Good reaction to the Fonfara/Smith fight numbers

"Well it was Fonfara, what did you expect? Of course it was gonna get low numbers."
Okay, then why bother putting it on a main even on freaking NBC, one of their main platforms? If they knew it was gonna get low numbers why bother?

Same with all fights. PBC themselves post the full fights too

... The best Haymon fights were aired by Showtime (i.e. not under PBC)...

In the few months since he won his paper title, Eddie Hearn has made Anthony Joshua a bigger name IN THE STATES than Deontay Wilder. If Haymon had the foggiest idea of what he was doing, that would never have happened.

Uncle Al may be a good businessman, and he may have been great at promoting music shows, but he absloutely sucks as a boxing promoter.

Like AJ, Wilder has a paper world title, genuine one-punch power, a string of KO wins over nobodies, and an engaging personality which comes over well on TV and videos.

Casual fans don't know, or care, that Deontay and AJ have never beaten anybody worth a damn. They look the part and they deliver the goods - against the right opponents at least.

Eddie Hearn knows how to exploit the ignorance of the casual fan base and is turning AJ into a mainstream star. Haymon hasn't a clue, so despite having been a "world champion" a year longer than AJ, Deontay can walk down the high street in his own home town, and hardly anyone will know who the fuck he is.

                    PPV ruined the sport.

Yep, and that is one of their problems with building towards something that the author is pointing out. Most cards appear to just be random with nothing to look forward too.
