Comments Thread For: Andy Ruiz vs. Franklin Lawrence on September 10, UniMas
Heavyweight contender Andy Ruiz (27-0) has advised BoxingScene.com that he will return to the ring on September 10th on an installment of UniMas' Solo Boxeo series.
Lawrence was inactive for a few years. I noticed he had fought twice the last couple of weeks. Couldn't find either fight. Not sure what he has left. I got the Estrada fight from a few years back. I'm sure Ruiz will take care of business. Ruiz would be his biggest step up but he is 40 now. I haven't seen a whole lot of lawrence.

Boxrec shows that Lawrence only fought once this year in March.
That said, Lawrence is not a bad opponent for Ruiz. He's a tough fringe contender who's been in with some good opponents. He has been very inactive over the last several years though
Now there is a name I haven't heard for the best part of a decade.
How much longer is Andy Ruiz going to be pampered for seriously?
The guy had 100 amateur fights & almost has 30 as a pro and he is still fighting retired 40yr old journeymen and fighters who are usually fed to 10-15 fight prospects.
