Comments Thread For: Garcia: I Don't Blame Marcos Maidana if He Never Returns

It's quickly approaching the two-year layoff mark for former two division world champion Marcos Maidana (35-5, 31KOs) of Argentina. Maidana has been away from the ring since a twelve round decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their Showtime Pay-Per-View rematch in September of 2014.

Retire when you want, not when the sport dictates.

chino has had big fights and made very good money. enjoy your family by officially retiring, but if he does return then it should be only for the biggest money fights.

He didn't really make as much money as say, Bradley, Rios, Marquez fghting Pacman. But Marcos doesn't live in Vegas or some expensive country. Thurman and others probably made more money fighting cab drivers. A few millions definitely make fighters fight less, or retire early.
