When was the last time Alvarez defended a 154 title? He has cruised in limbo at 155 through meritocracy of fan accumulation. Everyone knows 155 is not a division, and Alvarez has never stated it was. If you wanted to fight Alvarez then you're acknowledging his fight requirements. Nobody is forced to fight him.

The reality is that most boxers wish they had Alvarez's business power on his spoilage. He's not bending rules, and the commission will dictate the type of fight and what's at stake. Along comes Cotto, he accepts the challenge, loses. Alvarez had to keep the remains. He doesn't care what people think about his position under 160 WBC rules. İt's not he's scared nor does he carr about the financial gain nor would he provide a favor to K2.
