Ward wanted GGG to move up an entire weight class, AND get half the purse (which is undeserving considering Ward's financial intangibles). While with Canelo, this is a guy who fights at MW but wants GGG to come down to the minimum limit of the class to fight him...AND he wants the majority of the purse. Two totally different scenarios. Let me ask you this: would you skewer Ward if his team did the same thing to, say, Lebedev up at cruiserweight? Hmm? Would Ward's team be fair negotiators if the situation was flipped for them?...that they had to give up 50/50 & move up to the limit of cruiserweight if they want that fight? You won't.
