For a guy with supposed weight issues, why continue to torture the body down to 155lbs for the last three years, yet still perform well in the ring?

I get it, you are a card-carrying member of Golovkin Nation, cong****. Why such a fandom leads to utter delusions and ignorance of any actual objective information is beyond me.

      " anyone from 154-168 doe "
Again with that BS? Canelo: "Golovkin, I can't beat you at 160, even though I walk around at 170+ & hold a belt @ 160. Please starve yourself down to 155, so that you're weak and depleted and THEN I'll fight you. No? Ok, here's my belt. I can't defend it at the division weight limit. We Mexicans don't fuck around doe!"

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, from about 2010 through just before the Mayweather fight, was groomed and consistently pushed by Golden Boy Promotions in as many ways as possible; by the time the Mayweather fight came about, it was time for Golden Boy to **** or get off the pot.

Mayweather PPV, Angulo PPV(so-so business), Lara PPV(so-so business), Kirkland step-back, Cotto PPV, Khan PPV, and the likely coming September PPV; not everyone is going to be a blockbuster, but that's how things go.

Golovkin had basically three years of TV build on HBO, had his first PPV, and the numbers were apparently so soft that K2 put the Wade fight on regular HBO, will likely put the rumored September fight on regular HBO, and will likely not even attempt another PPV on the alleged strength of Golovkin's name.

        spin that however you want
It's not just about the star, it's also about who he fights, or did you forget that? Lemieux had already shown signs of vulnerability before he fought Golovkin. He was far from the powerhouse he seemed to be earlier.

If you think that Golovkin vs Canelo won't do big numbers, YDKSAB.

just saying; if Alvarez is struggling so mightily to even get to 155lbs, why would anyone in his camp keep pushing him to torture himself at the weight?

you can't answer that simple point, so you smear.

Floyd was built up, launched on PPV against Arturo Gatti, took a step back to HBO with the Sharmba Mitchell fight, and has been on PPV ever since, grinding through two dud PPVs before catching fire with Oscar De La Hoya and the "Money" Mayweather persona.

No one cares about David Lemieux; Gennady Golovkin is apparently supposed to be a star. If that actually were the case, after over three years of coddling, K2 was now in position to see what they had.

Once the decision was made to move Golovkin to PPV, that should've been the decision that K2 held itself to; Golovkin-Wade wasn't going to do any worse than Golovkin-Lemieux did, so K2 could've taken that momentum and used it to see what Golovkin's starpower really is.

Because 'Canelo' Alvarez does big numbers on his own; $7.5m at the gate for the Khan fight, over a $15m site fee to host Cotto-Alvarez, over 35k people in the building for Alvarez-Kirkland, etc.

to try and act as if Golovkin is supposedly going to move the needle is laughable.

I said he's struggling to make 154lb and that's why he's made up his own weight class and even then he's looking very drawn at the weigh in.....there's no defending it so give it in...he's made himself look like a coward and hurt his credibility by avoiding a fight and he's even had to vacate his belt over this...talking in the ring and calling golovkin out only to run away within a week , calling up weak chinned welterweights and weighing over 15lbs heavier than Khan and that with Khan putting false weight on......it's disgraceful and untill canelo mans up and fights golovkn this stain will remain on him....100%

Canelo is killing himself to make 155lb and he's damn lucky it's a 24hr weigh in otherwise it would be 175lb for him and golovkin would be 170lb......155lb is ok for him and his handlers because there facing smaller fighters or even bringing up chinny welterweights who have even been knocked out at jnr welterweight....the first opportunity he has had of fighting a fighter his own size he has ducked and run for the hills....wake up

Pac totally refused to rematch an old Cotto at 150.

Cotto was Pac's #1 pick, but Manny demanded that fight at 147..... Cotto said that he would drop to 150, but the weight was a show-stopper so Pac fought Bradley instead.

                    That fight will NEVER happen.

Stop being so ******, you clown.

He didn't have to make 154, so he didn't try.

Using YOUR methodology..... if Golovkin could beat Canelo at 155, then he would just fight him.

You are an absolute turd of a poster.
