I never asked you to post a list. I responded to the one you had already posted because you are listing fighters above Golovkin that 100% should not be.

Do you really think constantly repeating "where's your list?" is somehow making your opinion look better? All you're doing is repeating "so and so beat someone for belts" and "so and so has skills and is taking risks" without actually looking at the competition, because you are dead set at criticizing Golovkin no matter what the **** he does. You are not even trying to rebuke what I said because you are so dead set on hating on Golovkin rather than be objective.

FFS, it's ridiculous. You actually said that beating Peter ****ing Quillin would get Golovkin on your p4p list. Peter Quillin is no better than the class of fighters Golovkin has been destroying for 3-4 years.

There are a lot of people who want Golovkin to step up and have been hard on him for what he did with Ward, myself included. Difference is we have the objectivity to know he is one of the best fighters in the world and put him on a p4p list where he belongs. It's only extremely petty haters like realpugilist that pretend otherwise anymore.

****ing hilarious to say Saunders or Quillin would get him on the p4p list, but his competition so far isn't good enough. Those two are exactly the kind of competition he has been beating.

Golovkin didn't lose to Judah in a close fight, Judah was on a decent run at that point but that was his best win of the last portion of his career. Guys who were the goods gave Judah the business, and while the fight was close Matthysse was clearly not giving Judah the business. Also a lackluster performance that ended up being a loss to Alexander, he did better than against Judah and most feel he should have won but he didn't look great.


Golovkin has no black marks against decent competition, Judah and Alexander are decent competition so while losing close (or disputed) wasn't terrible it kind of shows Matthysse to be more in that sort of level than something more. Golovkin does have to fight some trickier opposition for the comparison to be more valid though.

That's not even remotely close to what I said. Outside of the period between the Marquez win and the second Pacquiao loss, Bradley has always been one of those fighters towards the back end of the p4p list. The second Pac loss put him back towards the end, and he hasn't looked great since, either.

It's funny how realpugilist and now you are trying to paint me as some Golovkin lover when I'm all over tons of Golovkin threads criticizing him, to the point of being called a Golovkin hater. I'm a lot more of a Bradley fan than I am a Golovkin fan.

GGG is on another level from the Machine. Sometimes I wonder what sport ya'll are watching.

Lucas' star was brightest right after he starched Lamont Peterson in 3, back when that meant something. Peterson is better than that particular performance, but styles make fights and I'd pick Matthysse to win it 8/10.

However, Lucas lost competitive fights vs Garcia and Judah, and got stopped vs Postol.

GGG hasn't been in any trouble as a pro. Stopped longtime contenders in Macklin & Murray, and former unified titlist in Daniel Geale.

peter quillin got knocked out in a round by danny jacobs and he's happy about it. al will still get him on TV, and he doesn't have to fight gennady golovkin any more.



if you can't tell that golovkin is a class above ever other middleweight in teh world, and one of the best 5 fighters at any weight on planet earth, you have no business talking boxing with the objective, knowledgable posters on bscene. adn you'll be disregarded accordingly.

Golovkin had a great amateur career and was an Olympic silver medalist. Matthysse was not.

Golovkin is undefeated. Matthysse lost to Judah and Alexander. (I thought Judah won and Alexander lost but regardless of how you felt of those decisions, Golovkin has shown that he obliterates that caliber of opposition and doesn't allow it to go to the cards.)

Golovkin has destroyed several top 10 contenders. Matthysse beat 1: Peterson.

Golovkin has a well rounded fighter with a great jab, counter punching skills and a wide variety of punches in his arsenal. Matthysse is more of a mid-range boxer that can counter.

Golovkin can cut off the ring. Matthysse struggles with boxers/movement.

Golovkin's only glaring vulnerabilities are his inside game and being ineffective going backwards. Matthysse showed a lot more vulnerabilities heading into the fight with Garcia.


To sum it up, Golovkin is a special fighter on the verge of greatness. Matthysse is a top level contender who could never take that next step.

hell, the molina and provodnikov fights certainly didn't make lucas look like he was in another class. those two are the kind of seriously limited fighters that golovkin would take out in a few rounds. matthysse doesn't have that kind of skill or power.
