He doesn't appear as limited as Lucas obviously was, but then again, we haven't seen him with elite competition yet. That's what's frustrating. I'd like to know either way.

Boxing Heads....tell me why 3XG ISNT Lucas Matthysse 2016

Not many fighters went out of their way to avoid Matthysse, in fact they ran towards him because they knew he was beatable. Zab Judah, Devon Alexander. It seemed his fans on NSB totally forgot about those fights and if he was a beast like they said he would have KOd these dudes. I never jumped on that bandwagon but he was a fun fighter.
Now if you watch the two fight, especially considering how sloppy Matthysse was literally falling down after missing wild punches, and think they are on the same level, then clearly you don't know **** about boxing.

As big a fan of Lucas as I am, he was never the fighter Golovkin is.

School me.........ok...........GO!
a fan friendly fighter, who is a ko artist, who is anointed the champion in the division. Though technically he never beat the man who beat the man so he isnt quite yet.
There fans act similar
difference is, Lucas has been in with the best of his divison and thats when his limitations became apparent.
History repeats itself. People go overboard when a figher has some skills and big power regardless if they are beating good competition or not.....Thats usually the casuals
Also the guy they are favored to beat is not beloved and are natural counterpunchers.....Garcia and Canelo
We know how good Lucas is now...now its time for GGG to step up....dudes getting old

OP is clearly not a boxing fan, or if he is he's not very perceptive. GGG's jab, ring iq, punch selection, and ability to cut of the ring are way better than Lucas. It's really sad OP can't see this, maybe he should follow another sport.

Matthyssee was competing in one of the historically deep divisons in recent history and his era was no different
160 does not have the talent of 140.....its easy to look like a monster when your weight class is top heavy.
140 usually has 8 guys who are interchangeable in their rankings and they usually end up fighting each other.
GGG has fought any elite elusive boxers.....he'll most likely be swinging at air too...its easier to be a "monster" fighting average comp.
imo GGG is no better a pro than Matthyssee until proven otherwise. they apply their craft differently. People are acting like Lucas is skill less. He can box and punch. He just has fought clearly better fighters
if he was fighting 140 equivalent of GGG COMP he'd be a longtime unified champ by now but his division is tougher
