Comments Thread For: Murray Feels Groves Might Be Shot: After I Win, He Will Retire!

Super middleweight contender Martin Murray believes George Groves is not the same fighter after suffering back to back knockout defeats at the hands of Carl Froch in 2013 and 2014.

I would seriously laugh hard if Murray beat Groves.

Froch really beat a lot out of Groves

They're both basically saying the same thing about each other and both probably have a point. Certainly Groves seems much more reluctant to pull the trigger these days whereas Murray never really had a trigger in the first place. That's not to say they're not both good fighters but I think both have already reached the highest level they ever will.

Still. Decent fight. I actually prefer Murray but as ever I think his style does him no favours at all when it comes to winning big fights - he really does need to open up more, cos just shelling up and coming back with the occasional flurry ain't gonna win him rounds.

      Groves by UD.

This is a true 50-50 fight. I can see either guy win and I do agree that whoever loses will likely retire. Groves has more to lose. If he can't beat a guy like Murray than he is done.

Groves is what he is, and froch didn't take it out of him. He maybe didn't have it in first place.
Murray would beat groves, any version of groves. I'm assuming this is best ever grives

I really like Murray for the win.

He is actually a very decent all round fighter, just lacks power.

Groves on the other hand seems to have lost his way since Froch.

IMO Murray has the skill and movement to get a UD.

I'm going with Groves ftw, I don't particularly like him however.

I've backed Murray so many times and after all the bumps in the road, I'm positive that he will fk this up too. Murray could fail at a wet dream.

Groves should be able to win this fight with his jab. I think it will keep Murray shelled up all night.
