Right now Loma wins handily. 126 though? It's a pickem fight. Gamboa at 126 was......one of of kind. Speed, reflexes, power in both hands, boxing ability. He was one of my very favorite fighters before he signed up with 50.

It seems like there is a lot of people that would still be interested in seeing a Loma-Gamboa fight.
I would like to see Gamboa make a comeback first. I don't even know why he signed with some random promoter. No news have been heard from him since he signed, in March, I think it was.
It's a shame how this guys career went. It seemed like a lot of people were behind him and he was one of the reasons why his career went the way it did imo.
I wouldn't mind Loma-Gamboa, especially if Gamboa can have a comeback not just fighting once a year like he has been doing for quite some time.

I wouldn't even mind if Gamboa has a comeback at 135 instead of 130. I never thought he belonged at 135, but he did extremely well against Crawford who is a huge Lightweight. He swept the first four rounds imo and he had his moments in the last few rounds, hurting Terence a few times. I don't see why he wouldn't be able to handle a Crolla or a Linares tbh.
I think I heard Gamboa said with this inactivity and his age he may feel more comfortable at 135 anyway. I just think there would be more room for him at 135 than 130 at the moment, but who wouldn't want to see him in the mix at 130? So it depends what he wants to do, but him and his promoter have to keep him active for now. He doesn't have to fight 4-5 times a year, but he can't sit out either

You forum warriors are so dissapointing. Gamboa got smashed on the chin in the fifth round by a perfectly timed right. That was where he lost the fight.
TIMING.

Crawford would have KOed Gamboa if he was exactly the same weight. Gamboa always goes wild and gets clipped. Loads of people have rocked that chin (Salido, Farenas etc). Of course size matters, but it was crawford timing that won him the fight (same with his fight against Dulorme). I also find it funny that you say i don't know about boxing, Sigh.....

Point still stands Gamboa gets blasted out by anyone with good skills and timing, including Loma. The chin is glass. Gamboa is basically a copy of khan at a lower weight - fast as hell but over-commits, gets tagged, and gets dropped. Then when it happens a whole fanbase gets stuck thinking he was the greatest ever, and just can't seem to accept the facts.

It's called congnitive dissonance when your emotions make you ignore the facts clearly given to you.

When he gets tagged, he gets hurt bad. Soft chin!

To beat a man like this (who is really fast), you wait for him to over-commit and then demolish that chin with a well timed shot. Or if you're confident he can't hurt you, just trade with him. Froch-Groves 2 was a prime example of this. And froch said, timing kills speed.

People are very high on Loma right now so I wonder how people think he would match up against the cyclone from Guantanamo.
