Comments Thread For: Arum: HBO Must Find Money For Lomachenko, Or It's Off To PPV

NEW YORK Bob Arum hopes Vasyl Lomachenko's next fight is broadcast by HBO. The premium cable network has invested in televising the uniquely talented southpaw's fights throughout his 2-year pro career. Two of his seven professional fights have been televised live on HBO and four have been broadcast as part of HBO Pay-Per-View undercards (the other aired on Showtime).

It better have a stack card. He needs to KO more opponents to be ppv worthy. Maybe after KO Walter or Salido.

I could see a TR fighter stacked PPV card if Arum applied himself or believed in stacking PPV's, which he doesn't seem to believe in doing more often than not & maybe rightfully so I don't know the stats & details he probably knows.

But in theory you could have Crawford, Loma, Ramirez & Verdejo being a quadruple threat that appeals to many demos on a PPV together. Split up about $10M among those guys & their opponents. Think about ~500k PPV buys = break even to a small profit..

what great fights and what free tv? have you seen the stuff he's been churning out? fonfarra vs joe smith jr main event on one of his big nbc cards? spence vs algeiri main event? etc etc...and porter thurman is a showtime fight not a haymon fight so give credit to showtime for that one since haymon ran out of money to pay for it himself.
