That's not what I'm saying or have been saying. I said people's dislike for Floyd in connection with Ali is definitely not irrational.

If I was talking a bunch of crap about you one day, the next day I wanted to shake your hand. It wouldn't be irrational of you to refuse.

      That's all I'm saying.

Why don't you just get the **** out of here and stop whining?

But I can understand why people take his words with a sense of self promotion specifically due to the things he has said previously.
          Tasteless?

So what, Muhamamd Ali is beyond criticism?

What tasteless comments has he made?

People in this thread were specifically disliking Floyd for what he said today. They tried to paint the respectful things he said as something bad just so they could take shots at him.

That's not rational behavior in the least. It's acting out of butthurt emotion.

But this thread shouldn't be about Floyd so I'll leave it at that.

Goodbye, Muhammad Ali. May you rest in peace.

But this thread is about Floyd! There is a linear thread about what DLH said, or HBO said, and PAcquiao said. And also a thread just telling that he has passed away.

Less about "me" and more about what the man accomplished which FYI is way more than Floyd did.

                RIP Champ.

                  Definitely not above criticism.

"No one can ever brainwash me to make me believe that Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali was better than me," Mayweather Jr. said. "No one could ever brainwash me and tell me that."

''I just look at Ali's career when he fought Leon Spinks and lost to a fighter with seven fights,'' Mayweather said. ''There were some other fights he lost and he's still known as The Greatest because that's what he put out there. It is what it is.''

“Take punishment and let a man tire yourself out from beating you? And then he’s basically fatigued, and you hit him with a few punches and go down and quit and you want to be glorified for that?

“So you wanna tell me that it’s cool to lay on the ropes and take punches and let a man tire himself out from beating you and then he’s basically fatigued… you hit him with a few punches and then he go down and quit and you want to be glorified for that? Absolutely not! Not me.”

Is it tasteless to say you are better than Ali? No.

Is it tasteless to use discourse like "brainwash me", "And you want to be glorified for that? Absolutely not" & "Take punishment and let a man tire himself from beating you?" - Which also is inaccurate by the way - Yes it is. He is downplaying a great champions accomplishments, goes into detail about why he shouldn't be looked upon how he is. Isn't it interesting that someone can say he paved the way, yet also say he shouldn't be glorified and ridiculing his victory?

Going into skill and opponents is fine, but saying Ali should not be glorified for what he did is totally classless, inappropriate and downright delusional.

That's his opinion on a fighter and there is literally nothing tasteless or classes about it at all.

Unless you're the most sensitive person ever.

It is without doubt totally classless and tasteless to go into details about a fighters past and start talking bad about his accomplishments and the praise he gets.

It boils down to jealousy. Any fighter starting to ridicule previous fighters are tasteless.

It's fine if you don't think so, but there's a reason why he was heavily criticized all over the world for those comments.
