Agreed about Mayweather being the best adapter.

Mayweather the best student of the game, then mastered all of his tricks.

    .
Genius is learning what others do and then you taking it to the next level. James Toney was great with the roll but he didnt take it to the next level, in fact i love watching Toney doing the roll. But Mayweather took his to another level, he learnt from watching others and then implement his own way into it successfully.

Being I was at this fight, the best fighter in his absolute "best " was Chico cOrrales. He was undefeated, and that was 15 years ago.... The literal last time Floyd fought someone in their absolute prime. No one else was in their prime besides Ortiz and it's clear his class was inferior from the get go. Floyds great, he just didn't close the show. Floyds like the drug dealer who shorts you on your herb sacks yet claims its the best best best. Materials good, but he shorts the public out of excitement, not worth attending live in my opinion but he's good fun for a dude sitting at home.

Floyd has the best reflexes of any boxer I've ever seen. That's definitely his God-given talent. However, I think Roach is throwing shade on Roger and Floyd Sr. His father and uncle are definitely responsible for the polished, finished product, even though God gave them plenty to work with!

Obviously he had game plans for plenty of his fights. Specific and detailed.

Mayweather is extremely scientific, he just lets off as if he's not.

Castillo, Hatton, Marquez, Ortiz, Baldomir, Maidana etc were all in their prime I would say.

It was nice to read his acknowledgement. Whilst Mayweather's matchmaking can be criticised from a fans perspective (and a lot of posters tend to conveniently forget that you've not been uncriticle of Floyd yourself in the past), in the ring you can make a case that the guys a genius.

Even in praising Floyd though he made sure he got a dig in at Sr. and uncle Roger!

Dismissing them was out of hand. Particularly the work that Roger has done. Watching Roger is like watching an early prototype of the fighter he helped his nephew become. Without that early foundation and tutelage Floyd Jr. wouldn't have been the boxer he is.

Yeah , Floyd's a huge fan of the sport. A shame when you have to watch him pretend to not know a fighters name. It's clear he's very plugged in.

I'm sure he spends countless hours studying his opponents. Canelo tried the same move he used to KO Khan several times with Mayweather and he was ready for it every time. He was ready for everything Pacquiao threw at him. As soon as Pacquiao started his flurries he would grab him. There's really no other defense for that other than to hold. You can't block or duck that many punches. Every time he held it would break Pacquiao's rhythm. Other than that it was easy to counter Pacquiao. Mayweather knows boxing better than most people. On top of that he's great at adjusting and changing his tactic. Cotto suprised him with aggression and he adjusted perfectly.

What a nice compliment from Roach. Imagine if he fought the best competition in his era at their primes and won them all. He'll probably be considered as Top 10 all time. Sadly his career went downhill after he moves up in weight. Wasted potential for a wonderful boxer like Floyd.
