there's nothing great about beating handpicked no hopers in boring snoozefests while calling yourself TBE
floyd took care of the business scheming side of the boxing, his genius fans would take care of his legacy

It's gotta be Manny, he was THE fighter from 2000-2009, which is essentially the era we're talking about. Neither May nor Hopkins or Wlad beat a longer or better list of great opponents or beat some of them as convincingly as he did.

Edit: Also THE fighter from 2010-2012

They are probably largely (percentage wise) participated in by the US demographic. Thus the US kid winning is hardly a surprise. its why I tend to go with my own thought processes rather than mainstream mass polling done by US organisations LOL
I don't think any media/journalist/historian voting in a poll like the ones listed would risk their credibility by voting for an inferior boxer, whether they are in Asia, America, Europe or wherever.

Now if you polled just the Philipines I'm sure Manny would win, but it wouldn't be valid. Just as if you limited the poll to just the US. Of course, a mass poll with opinions of non boxing fans wouldn't be valid, which is why I limited it to those that cover the sport.

You are entitled to use whatever you wish, but picking someone inferior on purpose doesn't make your pick unbiased or untainted. No matter what metric is used, Floyd will always come out ahead in any objective poll, same way I expect Manny to always be ahead of ODH or Cotto.

Show me where this was the true breakdown of people polled. As usual you are lying and/or making up something as a way to refute what was posted.

Do you rate Winky Wright over Mosley? I don't.

Do you rate Hearns over Duran. I don't.

Do you rate Calzaghe over Hopkins? I don't.

            Get it?

Floyd wins longest duck of this era though. Yes he lost to FMJ but tell me what MP's starting weight was & how many fight he had had by this point?

But you do rate Ali over Foreman and Frazier, you rate Leonard over Hagler and you surely rate Manny over Erik Morales despite the fact Morales beat him the 1st time and Manny beat Morales twice after Zahir Raheem destroyed him.

Mosley, Duran and Hopkins were not at their peaks when they lost these fights while the winners were. Floyd was not at his peak when he beat Manny, who also wasn't at his peak. They were on equal peaks.

Manny turned the fight down when he was at his peak and would have had a better chance to win. You are holding Manny's decision not to fight against Floyd. That is like blaming GGG for not fighting Sergio or Canelo.

The depth of MP's resume is incredible

                  2-2 JMM
                  2-0 Barrera
                  2-1 Morales
                  3-0 Bradley
                  Cotto
                  Margarito
                  Hatton
                  Clottey
                  Old Oscar
                  Old Mosley

Winky Wright wasn't at his peak & nor was Calzaghe.

Floyd was not pursuing prime Pac. Give up.

                      nice alt bro

Manny turned pro as a teenager, floyd was an amatuer until he was 19...that has nothing to do with it

its about skills and who you beat...he also lost to two nobodies early in his career while mayweather was champ by age 21, 18th pro fight and continued fighting another 19-20 years without a loss

also he lost to a past prime erik morales....do you see morales beating floyd when he was at 130...hell to the naw

conveniently leave out the part that

states he was more dominant, no need for a million rematches

                      won more title fights

has 3 times the title defenses

                      beat more champions

Mayweather was the best....get over it
