If Haymon doesn't bail out Top Rank... is Arum finished?

That's only if the PBC gets and keeps every American network that televises boxing outside of HBO.
The time buys prety much did that in the short term, but the long term is still undecided if a network like ESPN decides to go in a different direction.Comment

Different direction with who? What promoter(s)?Comment

That answers nothing. UFC isn't a cable network. You think they got a half a billion to billion dollar bankroll (depending on who you believe) to be the next Top Rank, Golden Boy or to just get a TV deal? Seems like a lot of money to invest in just a TV deal.
"When this is all said and done, it's going to be much bigger than the UFC."

I'm 99.99% sure that the networks will NOT sign with another promoter. They really have no reason to do so.
Hyamon has the relationship, he has the branding, and he is building his stable bigger each month. Absolutely no reason a network would go with another promoter.Comment

I agree but you know what? Let's just let this play out. Because all I'm hearing is that either PBC will fail (networks will back out) or PBC will play Mother Theresa and help Arum and HBO by doing a complete 180 on what he's trying to accomplish. I always read Mitchell Kane's posts but just seems like wishful thinking. But only time will tell. At least most people have moved on from the ****** PBC going out of business crap that began with some dweeb on reddit.Comment

I'm just throwing out basic logic that Haymon doesn't bail out Arum and that all the networks he's with right now will reup since PBC is bringing the biggest boxing sponsor (Corona) as well as a handful of others (by 2017) in order to ensure the networks are secured. No other promoter can do that.Comment

Why would ESPN need to sign with any promoter?
Part of the Haymon relationship with ESPN was through Brian Kweder, who is no longer at ESPN. Haymon and Kweder may still have some relationships at ESPN, but the network has had a lot of layoffs since the PBC relationship began, so I'm not sure looking in from the outside that you can say what kind of relationship still exists with ESPN.Comment
