I would pay good money to see GGG batter and hopefully retire Lara.

But Lara still has plenty to offer. I don't like him much, but he's still a good fighter and a name that GGG could really use on his resume.

How is he not? Murray is a world class loser with zero good wins.
Everytime he steps up he losses. He just lost comfortably to a shot Abraham that should speak volumes. Abraham with even more mileage than the 1 who was on even terms with Paul Smith.

I have no idea why people think he is anything but mediocre. People argue he beat Sergio that's his claim to fame. Arguably (really could of gone either way) beating a crippled fighter yet Cotto destroyed him and gets no props.

Murray is like some glorified Rosado or something. Guy gets more credit for losing than others do in winning.

In the past 3yrs there has been about 20 or more MW world champions inc Geale, Soliman, Quillin, Jermain Taylors ghost and still Murray failed in not 1, not 2 but three attempts.
          He's really not that good.
Wasn't long back he lost to Khomitsky for a second time.

Sorry I am Golovkins biggest fan but a fight with Lara would seriously bolster his resume & stature in purist circles. Sometimes its not just about business for me.. This would be a great signature bout & win for Golovkin. Hopkins had Tito, Martinez had Williams so why not Lara v Golovkin?! I understand Golovkin wants to unify all 160 though but this could still be done regardless.. Saying that though Jacobs is just as credible an opponent for Golovkin if a little less naturally talented than Lara! It's probably looking like Jacobs at some point soon, then trying to get BJS late or early 2017 & then Zurdo in spring 2017! Most likely scenario.. Throw in a mandatory over Jorge Sebastian Heiland somewhere too.

I would love this fight but in reality his team aren't going to make it. Lara just does a lot of talking on twitter.. He needs to do 'a Haye' on Golovkin & talk himself into it some more, follow him, stalk him, pester him!

Except you leave out the fact that Lara is a good fighter who challenged Golovkin. And at some point you need to accept that GGG has fought no one so there is no way that Lara is a step backwards...the least GGG could do, should do, is take a step forward and fight a guy that we all KNOW can BOX!!

amazing logic. he called him out therefore he must fight him, nevermind he's not in the same division/has no fans/ is the most unfanfriendly fighter in the sport

Kell Brook Called out GGG as well, why arnt you calling for that fight as well?

How are you going to say he lost to Khomitsky, and say he failed three attempts at winning a title? He clearly was robbed against Sergio Martinez (whether Sergio was old or not, whatever). Felix Sturm was another close fight, IN GERMANY. Anywhere else, Murray probably wins.

And you know what? He moved up to a higher division and fought a heavier/higher ranked opponent. Murray himself isn't getting younger.

And losing to GGG? No shame in that. Just like GGG would lose to Roy Jones Jr...

Lara has a fight at 155, ggg fans: Lara isn't a middleweight who needs him
Canelo fights at 155, ggg fans: he's a middleweight stop ducking!

So if the fight doesn't happen you won't claim that "Lil' G ducked him"?

I wouldn't mind the fight if there's nothing else.
