Bute never lost to Ward because Ward refused to fight him.
Bute was the undefeated IBF SMW champion. He had nine successful defences and many experts rated him, not Ward, the best SMW in the world.
Ward was offered a career highest purse to unify with Bute and he turned the fight down.
Are you seriously trying to claim Froch's victory over Bute as a W for Andre?
so Ward being the best at 168 was a matter of opinion...even though the top 168ers were Froch and Kessler...he beat them...and other top ten 168ers like Abraham and Bika but its not a matter of opinion for GGG being the best at 160...even though if you look at the top 5 middleweights, he hasnt beat any of them(i'll give you lemmie if that makes you feel better i think he is # 6, close enough)who had belts handed to him? ward actually won and earned all of his titles.Comment

Canelo IS an idiot, otherwise he would have fought at 160 after Golovkin agreed to allow him a voluntary defence before exercising his mandatory right to fight for the WBC title at the sanctioned MW limit.
THAT was supposed to be Canelo's chance to find out how he would feel weighing in at 160, instead of draining himself to 155. He didn't take that chance, and that's his problem, not Golovkin's.
GGG is 34 yo and had been mando for the WBC title for 2 freaking years ... how much longer did they expect him to wait for his shot?Last edited by kafkod; 06-01-2016, 03:32 PM.Comment

do you count GGG having 3 belts as him a victory? he only won 1 in the ring

It was Froch who beat Bute, not Ward.
Froch then became the top rated SMW, and Ward refused to give him a rematch.
You waffling on about Golovkin doesn't alter those facts, but seeing as you asked ... yes, until GGG fights Saunders and unifies the MW division, him being the best at 160 is just a matter of opinion. It's always a matter of opinion till it's settled in the ring.Comment

After the super six tournament ended, Ward and Bute were the top SMWs. Bute wanted to fight Ward and Ward refused to accept the fight.

yet you obviously feel GGG is the best middleweight and he hasnt even beat 1 of the top 3-5 middleweights.
you can have it both ways, its hypocritical as all hell and your bias for GGG is obvious
Bute literally beat none of the top 186ers at the time and 168 is one of the few weight classes where the bets fought the best.
why should Ward have to fight someone he clearly beat.....what was their to gain?
GGG could start by beating one top 3 middleweight...then your opinion of him would hold some weight or credibility.
Ward at 168> ggg 168....he better competition, higher ranked guys and actually won his belts in the ring...deal with itComment

the facts are....you said ward being the best 168er was opinion...even though he beat the top 3 guys at the weight......that means he was the best...its simple

After Froch beat Bute, Ward wouldn't fight Froch again either.
Is it possible for you to get Golovkin out of your head for long enough to think about those facts?Comment
