You're assuming Lara is serious. He's not, and it's not hard to see. 1. Asking for more than the fight will generate means to fight him they'd lose money, that's why you kill a fight. Especially considering that Lara set a draw and he's boring as **** to watch. I care little that he moves, but running around for half a round is no fun. 2. Lara talking is one thing, but his team never reach out to k2. It's easy to see why k2 wouldn't reach out to Lara, it would give him too much negotiating power. Lara wants GGG to need him. 3. And if Lara was really serious, he should step up to 160. If he establish himself as a MW, he'd probably get more fans asking for the fight.

Yet GGG hasn't actively went after him. But that's ok, cuz... reasons. SMH
He already knows he has to pay more for his challengers, his management has reported that more than once. So if he's so confident... he should just go flat out after him... unless he isn't ready to test himself against a better and faster boxer. Oh wait... he's Superman to you GGG fans. Sorry, forgot. What are you talking about? Lara's last fight averaged like 320k viewers, one of the worst ratings i've seen in a long time. Well besides Andre Ward's BET rating. Seriously, how ****ing bias are you?

Nobody likes watching Lara fight. They're mostly awful to watch.. But everyone knows who he is. GGG is the guy who's supposed to bring it vs Lara so that's a non-issue.


But who's GGG going to fight as a mando? Tureano Johnson who got stopped by frickin Curtis stevens?

The resume is going to look a lot more appealing besting the best 154 pound belt holder wanting to move up which GGG has shown no interest in doing than Tureano Johnson or whoever his other mandatories are.

Yep. Revenue is irrelevant. He's doing bigger numbers than Tyson. Tyson didn't have to compete with illegal internet streams. He did make hia fights available in movie theaters at a reduced rate like Floyd does. He also wasn't selling $75 PPVs in a bad economy.

I'm not saying its irrelevant, but to act like it sole determinate in popularity is just horrible logic. If you can honestly tell yourself mayweather is bigger than Tyson, Ali, or Leonard.... then you can convince yourself of anything.

You do realize that there are actual fight fans order good fights with no real rooting interest right? You don't have to be a fan of Ward to recognize his talent. And if you put him in with a guy that real fight fans think have a chance of beating him, they'll buy. Ward-Kovalev will outdo GGG-Lemieux. GGG is a bigger star than both. But match those two up, and its a much more desireable product than GGG-Lemieux if you're not a fan of any of the fighters involved.

What world are you living in? Everyone knows who he is?! The guy did 324k viewers on FREE TV last time out.

As for the resume, i would prefer Saunders or Jacobs. If he can't get one of those then Lara is a good option. But to act like this fight is going to put GGG on the map is laughable, just laughable.

I wasn't around in the Ali or Leonard eras and was very young when Tyson was at his peak. Floyd isn't as liked. But he's just as, if not more popular. Floyd did what he did in an era where boxing is almost a cult sport. Thoae guys did their thing in eras where boxing was mainstream. So for Floyd to do what he did in a time when nobody cares about boxing. I'd say he doesn't have to take a backseat to anyone in terma of fame and popularity.

I respect Ward's talent, no doubt. As for Ward Kov I think putting that fight on PPV will be the biggest mistake in history. I'm not even sold it does 75k buys. I will be buying the fight for sure, but to anyone who isn't a hardcore boxing fan, they aren't interested. Trust me i know, been trying to get a fight party lined up, nobody is interested.....
