So is Canelo moving back to 154?

That's what idiots said about Cotto last year when he was being "difficult" in negotiations. And what everyone said for 5 years and then some about Floyd. I don't think any of these fighters is afraid of another man. It's all about business.Comment

So you don't think Floyd and Manny were the clear number 1 and 2 fighters in their weight let alone the world? and it's just an accident that after they both made it clear they weren't fighting each other for multiple reasons that mysteriously these belt organizations kept deciding that there were better fighters then each other that needed to be mandated for five years? It's not no what if WBC and the rest of them looked out for themselves and didn't want to upset either guy by mandating a fight that wasn't going to be made until these fighters made it. If either belt org put their foot down and mandated the fight then with the quickness Floyd would of dumped the belt in the trash like Canelo. The fact that they broke rules to allow Floyd to fight whoever he wanted doesn't change anything. Here you go with your woulda/shoulda/coulda. I'm living in reality. Floyd and Manny were never mado's. GGG and Canelo were. If Canelo is this big star like you claim, why wouldn't the WBC look out for him? You're saying he can sell PPV's with just about anybody like Floyd and Manny. And you're saying the WBC is all about making the most money. So why didn't they look out for Canelo since he's the big star that's going to bring them all this money? And you still didn't answer the other question. Besides GGG, what fight does the public want to see Canelo take and are willing to shell out money for the PPV?
If we tried to figure out the logic with the WBC and others and why they break these rules in one instance and not in another we would be here all day. The point is they are corrupt and hypocrites. And Canelo vs GGG is a big fight with or without the WBC belt. And none of these belts are big enough to tell Canelo what to do or help GGG out in the negotiations table. They weren't big enough to tell Cotto what to do who also trashed this belt. And if they tried with Floyd he would of trashed it.Comment

I don't see anyone he can fight that could really be a huge PPv besides cotto, or somehow lands manny...
Most of the best 154 guys are with PBC and none are really big names..
Canelo will probably try and lamd a Cotto rematch, but cotto may decline and take a marquez fight, which then means Canelo really doesn't have anyone that can be a big fight, and GBP will try and lure a "name" like Maidana to help make a big PPV eventComment

Assault at 156! Haha man the thing is that is how it would probably be sold to us by GBP...Watch out, he's moving up.
But nah seriously, Canelo has made himself a little more irrelevant. He can sit at 155 and claim to be the lineal king as long and as much as he wants, he will only be able to fight people blown up or 'catchweighted' MW's...Each and every time he does that would dilute his claim to the lineal 160 throne. He doesn't have a belt and the only claim to championship is his lineal stake, which again, looks more and more diluted the more he emphasises 155. He will one day become forced to surrender his hostage situation and go to 154, or face up to the reality of his claims and actually fight people at 160. He has watered down his image so much and every time he weighs in at 155 while claiming to be the 160 champ will get older and older, as if it wasn't old enough.Comment
