Canelo got rid of the one thing that was forcing him to fight golovkin. He will absolutely not fight him any time soon. I honestly expect him to fight someone like Bradley next or even margarito. Cotto 2 is a strong possibility. He's the biggest joke in boxing in the last 20 years.

Canelo is big enough where he can literally fight anyone regardless of their network/promoter affiliation. Don't believe me? he just fought Khan who is one of Haymon's bigger name fighters despite the fact that Khan has fought exclusively on Showtime and PBC for the last 5 years. And Golden Boy is currently suing Haymon for hundred millions. Yet Khan crossed over to HBO to fight Canelo a golden boy fighter for a career high payday. Canelo can fight any fighter he wants because you make more money fighting him then anyone else.

Nobody was talking about Khan as an opponent until he signed to fight him out of the blue. He could fight a name nobody is even thinking about. Canelo against a mismatch Khan just did 600k ppvs and unless Floyd comes back nobody will have a bigger ppv in the 2016 then him. He can literally fight anyone and it will be a big event and make more money then anybody else can generate. Just using your example Canelo/Lemieux would do 3-4X the PPVs GGG/Lemiuex did last year. So yeah he does not need GGG to make money. GGG needs him to make HALF of what Canelo makes fighting anyone else.

So who's next? Give me some legitimate names. If you look at Canelo's history he has a certain pattern he follows. Bring a smaller fighter up. or Fight a fighter coming off a long layoff.

I really hope Canelo will at least step up and fight someone his size. Not another welterweight, and not another old smaller fighter like Cotto.

I don't even think he wants to move to 154. He can barely make 155, now that the belt is gone he will probably try to fight at 155 again or slowly make the move to 160. I absolutely have no clue who he could be fighting next. If he fights Cotto again that would be the biggest disgrace to the sport and to the fans.

I don't think he is coming down, he will stay at 155 and make Welterweights come up to 155 or they will stay in house and make Lemieux come down to 155 as well as Tuerano Johnson. I don't care how you try and spin it now. Nobody thought Khan was a legit contender to fight Canelo for many reason, that fight being made almost killed twitter because people didn't see it coming. And I'll say it again Canelo can literally fight anyone and it will be on PPV and one of the biggest fights of the year. He can fight any of the top fighters at 154, he can get one of the top guys at 160 to move down or he can also get any of the top fighters at 147 to move up. He has the pick of the litter from 3 different weight classes he's the cash cow in the sport. And like you saw with Khan a Haymon fighter he can get any top fighter to jump political lines to fight him because he can offer more money to fight him then anyone can make fighting someone else.

You sound like the idiots for months who said Canelo is screwed he can't get a big name fight for May he will have to fight Rosado because he has no options.
