This could be a very bad move for Canelo because I don't see to meny fighters willing to fight him at a catch weight of 155 if he holds no belts even at walterweight, and not to much longer when he decides to move up to 160 he will have to give in to GGG demands if and when he decides to fight him. This could end up backing firing

the difference between fighting those guys and fighting GGG is a big one. i don't think Canelo is scared by at the same time getting outboxed will not end your career, going to war with a boxer power puncher can end your career (not saying it will but people have been known not to comeback after a solid beating)

Are people really saying Golovkins side was unreasonable? If thats the case, why didnt canelo just go to bids so its all fair.

The WBC gave Golovkin the title, so now the big fight for him at MW is Sanders. Alvarez can drop a few pounds and fight at super welter weight.
The GGG fight was always gonna be a beat down. It'll be interesting to see how long Alvarez remains the "biggest draw" in boxing.SMH

                  So he drops the title.

Now, GGG's got two choices. Take the belt and run (which WOULD BE a duck), or accept Caneloweight and whatever other non-Vaseline terms Alvarez can come up with.

It's a brilliant move. Now we get to see if GGG really does want the fight.

                  Exactly !

Golovkin ducked out the back door when Ward called his bluff, so let's see what door he takes with Canelo.

Where you at Herobando? You have stated on multiple occasions that all Canelo needs to do is..... " drop the belt and we will fight at 155 ".

So yea, I can't wait to see your public support for this fight, AT 155.

Lmao at the idiots on here trying to defend canelo...

                    The dude just ****ed himself..

He is gbp and hbo's cash cow, but only if he is headlining major PPvs...

Ggg is his only major fight..

Canelo, if he wants a title, will now have to go back to 154 and fight youngsters like charo brothers, Andrade, j-rock... Guys that bring huge risk but no money..

I can't imagine Oscar or chavez or Sanchez or duran,, vacating a lineal belt because they were afraid..

Lmao at Canelo and his team still trying to act like they want the ggg fight and still negotiating..

Canelo is bigger then any belt. So was Floyd and so was Manny and you just saw last year so was Cotto. If GGG wants to fight Canelo it will be at whatever weight he says because he's the prize not a belt. Canelo had to agree to a catchweight to fight Floyd. Floyd had to leap frog a entire division just to fight at Oscar's weight with all Oscar's demands because he was the the big star. When he became the big star Canelo had to do it for him. The bigger star dictates the terms regardless of what belt the B side has. Floyd was the number 1 p4p fighter in the world yet Oscar who was old, no longer a top p4p fighter, holding a minor belt was the bigger star and draw.
