Well, GGG knows what the deal is now. He will have to go along to get along with Canelo....otherwise he will have to go to 168 to make the most compelling matchups. He can stay at MW and set records but the mega fight isn't going to come. Jacobs, Saunders are still good fights to have though. It sucks for ggg fans but it's clear as day. Challenges are out there at 168

            Definitely, might as well.

People getting really emotional here for no reason. Just stating facts. Do I want to see Canelo/GGG? Sure I would, it would be a good fight. But as someone who has negotiated many contracts in his life I understand Canelo's position. He is the guy that made the sacrifices and took risky fights to get where he is. GGG has not. Canelo loses to Trout or Lara he is not the cash cow he is. GGG needs to do the same. If any of you were in his position and had any sense you would do the same thing.Plus I don't think this necessarily kills this fight, just delays it.

In other words it was a cherry pick.
And what do you call fighting chumps like Wade who even GGG admitted he didn't know who he was and never saw him fight before he agreed to fight him? That's what GGG does call out bigger names then makes it difficult to make those fights and turns around and fights a no named bum instead. I've seen this song and dance before. I'll go to 154 or 168. Wait ward no I change my mind fight has to be at catchweight 164 for you. Oh Canelo you will fight me at 155 no I changed my mind I only fight at 160 for the purity of boxing even though just 6 months ago a demanded a catchweight of my own. All while he fights bum after bum. Canelo already fought and beat much better fighters and made concessions as a young fighter to get bigger names. When will GGG step up and do the same?

Let Canelo fight Tim Bradley and Juan Marquez then Margarito and maybe Cotto again. Jacobs & Saunders make better trophies at 160.

Now the that the belt is off the table no more excuses you either agree to fight Canelo at his weight like you said you would for Floyd/Manny or keep fighting bums like Wade. No belt is going to help GGG dictate terms against the bigger star which clearly is Canelo. GGG shot himself in the foot he had little leverage before and has zero now. Canelo had to agree to a catchweight to get Floyd to fight him, Cotto had to agree to one to get the Manny fight, Hopkins had to agree to one to get the Oscar fight. It's GGG's turn.
