We're in post May-Pac era where the PPV's aren't what they once were. Canelo's last PPV, with a big name like Amir Khan, did 460,000 PPV buys. If you quickly glance at the GBP roster you'll notice that they're devoid of name fighters for Canelo. Which means his next fight on PPV is going to do even worse numbers than the Khan fight and will result in even more backlash.

I don't see this situation going well for Canelo at all.
Laughing at you believing that 460 number when rival promoters like Duva and PPV Guru mark taffet debunked that figure. All signs say it did 600k according to the same source that said GGG did 150k PPVS. Not sure you realize this but 600K this PPV and 900K the fight before is a whole lot bigger then 150k. Canelo calls the shots in negotiations. Let GGG keep fighting on regular HBO while Canelo fights on PPV making 10X the money GGG gets. Or GGG can agree to go down in weight like he already said he would 154 for Floyd and Manny and make money and go for glory.

huge duck by canelo, ggg needs to win the rest of the middleweight belts quickly then move up to 168 where there would be fighters willing to fight him and leave canelo fighting blown up welterweights at 155

As of this point right now his actions are consistent with what we see time and again as a way of avoiding a fight.

I don't think a fight this year makes as much financial sense as fighting next May on Cinco de Mayo weekend. The thing is if that's Golden Boy's plans they leave themselves open to accusations that they ducked the fight then were forced into it at a later date.

Whether they'd care is another matter.
It makes Canelo look bad this time tho. As much as GGG will be favored over Canelo, it wont be the level that Canelo-Khan was. And that fight was made. I dont think Canelo would drop his belt cuz he wanted to wait an extra 8 months so it makes better financial sense. Its simple, he just doesnt want GGG. But if Canelo were to drop the belt right after the cotto fight it would of been better, but he made it seem like he really wanted GGG "right now"

Completely unrealistic to think this kind this fight could be negotiated in 15 days.

The same people calling for Canelo to vacate are now butthurt that he did. Can't win...
