So how much more is he making with rock nation? i didn't realize that he has made a deal that is so much better than his other contract was with Goosen. in fact he could have finished up his contract (probably) with Goosen and signed a new one with Rock nation just about at the same time or sooner if he taken the last fights on his contract (its my guess, i don't think they made those contracts public)

If you sign an agreement and you feel like the agreement isn't being upheld, you have the right as a man to contest that agreement. And that's what he did. You don't know what goosen did or didn't do as it pertains to Ward's career and neither do i. But andre does and he fought for it and got the results he wanted. That's the definition of a man.

Roc nation offered broner 40 million, i think its safe to say they offered ward over 20 million. That's more than he made in his entire career under goosen. I know that by adding up his purses from the showtime and hbo dates that he had during his time with goosen.

Plus he is actually being promoted now. You hear Ward's name more now than ever. He's even playing in movies now. (Creed).

Ward got what he wanted. Why is it a problem when a fighter takes his career into his own hands.

Mikey garcia another example of a fighter willing to sit out to make things right. That's what men do.

He did do buisness with the ****** though. Took a big suitcase full of money. And only God knows what he did for that suitcase. Luckily the *** bob arum stepped in and saved the devout catholic.

so is that why he lost in court time and time again? because Goosen wasn't upholding his contract? i don't think so. He was let out of a contract because he went to court against a dying man... who i believe either died or was about to die and so he was let out of his contract... but i guess that's what men do.

            • I think Ward has to prove he's the best around after all that time on the sidelines. We don't know if he's the same guy he was in 2011/2012.

I think I would just about side with him in the Kovalev fight, but it's a close call. If he does get the upper hand he may even look comfortable in the fight, but if he has slipped then that fight will show it. Kovalev has a varied game and knows how to manage distance. He is the best fighter Ward has faced, and is easily the most dangerous.

I'll always root for the puncher over a spoiler and it's marginally easier to be a defensive fighter than offensive but it doesn't belittle the skill or achievement.

Sometimes a win is the only goal.
I think Ward is actually as offensive as he is defensive. He doesn't spoil time at all, hes constantly creating openings for himself to attack.

People really are not watching Ward fights.

Agree. There's only a few people here who actually know what the hell they're talking about. To most people, Ward's a defensive genius who has no offense, Kovalev's a puncher with no skills and Golovkin's basic and easy to hit.

None of those generalizations are anywhere close to the truth.

                  • Ward thinks Kov signer

Come on guys, Ward is TBE! Remember all those huge names in their primes he defeated? He's such a good boxer he only needs to fight once every 2 years! Obviously, in his last fight, he allowed Barerra to land some big shots on him, purposely, to try to lure Kovalev into thinking he's lost some game... Ward in 3 rounds by KO!

You heard the man, he "thinks" Kovalev signed the contract which has a secret weight, location, and purse that'll be announced the night before the fight!

Just kidding... Ward will duck, like he ran from GGG a month after he witnessed the destruction of Lemiuex !

                    You guys heard it first!
