He was great for the sport.

He was a star early on and could have taken safe fights but the guy fought the best competition out there, sure he lost some, but just about every great fighter does. We need more fighters like him.

He's insanely over rated. I had him like 36-8 in reality.

well he managed to lost move of his most top fights but lets be honest he was really really close in beating floyd, the judges rule it a spit deciison for a reason. pacquiao knock him out when he was on a winning streak! pacquiao retired him for good.

And while he did lose a lot of fights, there were some fights he was clearly robbed in. Tito fight for instance.
Dude how the *** did Oscar get robbed against Tito. Dude Literally ran for four rounds. Are you telling me Oscar swept the first 8 rounds??

Never mind I don't want to know what you think.

Oscar was competitive against tougher opponents throughout his career.

DLH is the better athlete and has more ability.

But Cotto has more skills [can also fight as a pressure fighter].

On the other hand he could not win Pacquiao, Hopkins, Mayweather, Mosley (twice).

Where do you put De La Hoya?
Yes, I definitely consider DLH to be a legend.

He won the 2nd Mosley fight hands down.

I felt he won the Trinidad fight

He was daring to be great by facing Hopkins at a weight he shouldn't have been fighting in which was obvious against Sturm.

                He's definitely a legend.

Oscar doubled Trinidad in landed punches after 8 rounds. He stopped throwing punches the last 3 and a half rounds and STILL finished the fight out landing tito 263 to 166. According to compubox one of the worst decisions of alltime.

I don't care if Oscar gave away rounds at the end it's impossible to give Trinidad 7 rounds in that fight, after 8 you have to struggle to find more then 1 sympathy round to give tito who was being outlclassed.

Some of you guys don't know what a legend means.

It's someone talked about and remembered.

Doesn't have to be the best.

From the greatest aging fighters in the 90s to the greatest prime fighters in the 00s.

                      130-160 odlh fought them.

                      In huge fights.

If you don't think Oscar is a legend in boxing you're tripping.
