Lennox turned down $20mil offer to fight Vitali in a rematch that's more than what he was paid for Tyson which was <$18mil if I recollect..

TKO6 - As true as it is for the records sake, true fans will remember it for the fight it was.. Hands down it is up among the best HW fights I have seen live..

You know when Holmes says anything positive about the Klitchkos you know its time to walk or runaway because even Holmes said Lewis knows hes in for a beating if Lewis gives him a second chance. Holmes cant even admit that Wlad has a good jab as a matter of fact he thinks he doesn't even have one
I don't know what was the issue with Holmes but he was always salty about Lennox and both the Klitschkos.. He always sounded like they got credit for not facing great opponents.. Smh..

you were at the fight? I only watched it on HBO. Vitali was winning on the cards but Lewis started laying some bombs on his face. Vitali cuts easy & that was his downfall. It was only the 6th & I had vitali up 4-2 but at the end of the day if the fight goes on Vitali may have won but the same could be said for lewis. That left eye closes or those cuts bled to the point he doesn't see a lennox lewis right coming it could have been very bad for Vitali. Anything after TKO6 is speculation. Lennox/Tyson was on HBO PPV was it not? vitali/lennox was on HBO. Tyson was way more popular then Vitali. He was still fighting on PPV against guys like Clifford Etienne. Best HW fight since 2003.The Sanders/Rahman fight in 2000 was a great fight too. If you are interested in my signature I have boxing FB account that I only post fights. I have over 2000 HW fights there. just finishing active fights but will be starting retired fighters. I will guys like lennox, vitali, holyfied, tua, ruiz, etc. all fights private so you have to send me a friend request. fake name or whatever. all friends list is private & not shown. watch fights, post comments or whatever. I will update my fight additions on the FB thread I have going. MIke Perez next then it's the big boys from the 90s. I have posted over 500 so far. I did active guys first & then I will move on to inactive & retired fighters. It's one thing to look at results on boxingrec & it's another to actually see the fight.

You could still see that Vitali was sharper in that fight no matter how much Johnson weighed and so did Lewis watching it...hence couldn't get the Tyson fight so he retired. I bet if vitali pretended to hit the canvas at least once ,Lewis would jump right into a rematch mark my words.

I don't know. I only think the rematch would of happened if Vitali won because you can bet your bottom dollar their was a immediate rematch clause like in all Lennox fights. He only exercised it once against Rahman. Active fighters first & they are almost done then onto my Vitali, Lewis, Holyfied, Bowe, Tua, maskaev, mercer, witherspoon, Corrie Sanders, Rahman & many others.

All we know is Vitali vs Lennox was a hell of a fight and IMO the best elite level "action packed" HW fight since maybe the Bowe vs Holyfield fights.

They were both winner as overall Vitali outboxed Lennox (nobody ever did that) and showed he was a great boxer with serious skills and reflexes for a man of this size.

Lennox on the other part, hurt many times, as the champion and the most experienced fighter was able to get the victory via TKO wich is a hell of an accomplishement.

Lennox shoulda give a rematch sportwise but if he felt he hadn't it anymore I understand him.

Funny to think we waited 11 years, with the Fury vs Wlad fight to get a A level HW fight, this last one was a lot less exciting.
