I think it was a good idea for Wilder's team to ask the bank to freeze the fight purse. Should make it easier for his team to receive payment for the training and traveling expenses he's owed.
“Povetkin didn’t fail a doping test. He has 15 times lower meldonium concentration than the limit established by WADA. Now we need to pass additional tests, then we will set a new date of the fight and do it.”
The WBC have already made a ruling that the fight will not happen until a full investigation has been completed, although Wilder's team are insistent that the bout is off permanently.
When are we going to get a 100% clear picture of what the **** is really going on?

Technically you're right, WBC did call it off. But I'm sure Wilder's people were cheering them on from the start... AND elated when it did get called off... no matter what they say otherwise. As for defending Povetkin... I'm on the side of clean fighters just like most are, but this is a case of a fighter having a small trace of the drug in their system. A drug that the manufacturer as yet has not been able to say when it completely leaves the body. Once they can figure that out and release the results of their findings, THEN we can move on to other issues. Supposedly there are legal alternatives to Meldonium, so there would be no reason for Povetkin to cheat. If some of you would start thinking outside the box, you'd realize not every issue in life is black and white. I hope this fight does get rescheduled and Wilder actually is forced to fight Povetkin. Because it needs to happen.
The bold is purely speculation and seems to indicate a degree of bias against Wilder. Your frustration should rest with the WBC and the testing agency. Povetkin is probably in technical breach of their contract based on his positive test (even if it is erroneous), Wilder really doesn't owe him anything.

Ryabinskyi is a powerful and influential businessman in Russia, he isn't getting fucked around by a bunch of dumbasses running away from a contract.

Do you have a link to the ESPN article confirming that it was indeed a urine test that Povetkin failed?
It's in the 2nd paragraph.
"but in a Voluntary Anti-Doping Association urine test conducted April 27 in Chekhov, Russia, Povetkin tested positive for meldonium. "
And towards the bottom he talks about Blood. Tests.
" VADA on April 7, 8 and 11, and each of those tests came back negative for any banned substances,"
So basically it looks like he took the drug after the 11th. And got popped on a UA. I can see why it was low amounts also... He almost got away with it. Dumb *** didn't time it right to be out of his system.

I just highly doubt that it would kill a super-fight, especially not under the shadow of drug testing..... not a good look.
In fact I'm sure it's not the reason.
Pac agreed to additional blood testing, the issue was the cut off date.
The difference came down to 10 days..... Pac wanted 24, but Mayweather would only give him 14.
And there is no such thing as a cut-off date for Olympic Style Testing.
Those 10 days weren't just a sticking-point, they were a brick wall.
And Team Pacquiao did not provide 1 genuine reason..... they supplied about 8-9 different silly excuses...... which also, aint a good look.
I'm not sure whats up, like you say, it's history.
