This is the reaction of a guilty man. If the testing positive was an innocent coincidental result of lingering traces from when he was using before the ban, they would be understanding and not deny pay as to save face and not seem su****ious. But knowing that they are guilty they are denying him the pay out of spite for being caught. They should have negotiated a fee to pay him and hope to than try to reopen negotiations with team Wilder when the tension settled. Money usually makes the pain go away.

Under amateur regulations, it does.
I remember that female cyclist a few years back..... under the rules, the winners/finalists must all undergo drug testing immediately following a race. But after that woman won her race, she bolted..... she literally left the building, she ran out the door, jumped in a waiting car, and gone LMAO
She turned up a few days later citing a family emergency, and promptly requested her medal..... but she was stripped/suspended, and branded a drug cheat.
It's not the same situation at all, but yea amateur regulations are strict as fk.

Very big test for the WBC! Will the new regime continue to accept CW championship fights. Will they strip Canelo? Will they punish Povetkin? Is Team Wilder free to negotiate a fight with a different opponent? Will boxing EVER evolve like the NFL and other major league sports? Where's the vision?

Not convinced about that at all.
They seem like absurd reasons to kill a super-fight.
And then, suddenly..... those phobia's simply disappeared, and were never mentioned again..... not once.
Anyway like you say, history now.

So what if he don't get paid. They are going to sue for training expenses. Why even roll the dice with that fight.

I don't know what the hell kind of stunt Wilder's team is trying to pull. If Wilder is not willing to fight, he should not be paid. Why does his team think he should be paid $4.6 million for backing out of a fight?

There is no way in hell the WBC would CANCEL the fight and miss out on their three percent cut! This was Wilder and his team's decision!!!!
