As for Povetkin, I'm withholding judgement until all the research is adequately finished on Meldonium. It's my understanding the drug's half-life is out of the system soon, but no one knows yet how long it takes for it to be completely gone from the system, or for that matter how it reacts to different people's systems. And I still don't know why they would ban a drug when they don't have all the info in from it. To me that's irresponsible. I'm all for clean fighters, but IMO the way this particular incident went down is just wacko.

The thing that sucks is that not only was this the best fight of 1st half 2016, but I don't think Povetkin legitimately cheated or knew what he was doing. If the concentration was really 70 nanograms, it's so low that I don't think he took it knowingly. The more likely scenario is some idiot on his team re-used an old water bottle or something ****** like that.

This drug has plenty of legal alternatives that are just as good. Why would he take a tiny amount of an illegal drug when he can take a normal dose of a legal one? In any case, RIP fight.
Agreed. I wouldn't even put it past Wilder's team to have snuck something in. The guy talks big, but it's obvious he's the emperor wearing no clothes. But like you say, Povetkin unknowingly ingesting it or not, we now have no fight. SMDH

Thanx bud. Good to hear at least a few have their head working right.
Question: What is wacko about how things went down? It seems remarkably similar to other times people tested positive for banned substances whether well known or not. Peterson came up with an excuse for his usage (which didn't fly), Vargas came up with an excuse for his (which was accepted), but Povetkin's camp lied about the usage initially which makes it that much more wacko. Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

Your ******ity, bias, and outright lies is enough to "bolster my case." You're just too dumb to realize it. Basically you're scum and it shows in your post.

Sounds like Povetkin's team doesn't know the meaning of random testing. He tested negative 3 prior times & rolled the dice, thinking he wouldn't get tested after taking the drug...Dumb ass.

I've said many times I'm all for clean fighters, so your b.s. just flew out the window. Kind of a lame try on your part. Soon as the manufacturer can positively establish a time frame for the drug fully being gone from the body, THEN I'll believe the doping agency and the sanctioning body's claims. Come back little boy when you can handle some reality. First though, you need to smarten up.
