Comments Thread For: Wilder vs. Povetkin Heavyweight Title Fight Officially Postponed

From the moment Deontay Wilder entered training camp for his planned May 21 title defense versus Alexander Povetkin, he knew all along that he would spend the last two weeks of camp in England before boarding a plane to his next destination on the Sunday ahead of fight week.

What he didn't realize at the time, was that it would be to head home.

Wilder's fourth defense of his heavyweight title will have to come another day, as BoxingScene.com was informed on Sunday that his fight with Povetkin is officially postponed.

Povetkin never wanted this fight doe...

Honestly, they should cancel it. Povetkin failed a drugs test for goodness sake, he doesn't deserve a title shot.

Only reason it goes on is because Wilder wants his payday, and that's not how professional sport should work.

The WBC made the correct decision. I have always liked Povetkin but when it comes to boxing, just the smallest advantage can jeopordize the life of another. Feel bad for Wilder for willing to travel to Moscow and now it has been canceled. Hopefully, he gets back in the ring soon.

Now had they canceled it, people would be up in arms saying it was racist against Povetkin and Wilder got a duck.

If Wilder fights a bum, he should just drop the title
