GGG haters just make stuff up. They constantly act like what a fighter is doing today must of been how they performed right before GGG faced them.

Doesn't matter how it's phrased

Phrase it how you will:
Ok, in last four years and at the hieght of GGG fame. What's it matter. In last five years no one has faced more top ten fighters than GGG.
Or, since both Canelo, Kovalev, Ward, and GGG has been with HBO, GGG's the one fighting more top ten fighters.
The reason him signing with HBO (four years ago) matters is because it marks a turning point in GGG career. He is finally recognized and worth a risk to top fighters--although not all.
One, coming to the states and being under k2 made him able to land bigger fights. Second, GGG was with HBO, meaning top fighters would be more willing to get in the ring with him.
Before GGG was on HBO he had a hell of a time getting people to fight him. Even now he's high risk and lower reward.Last edited by Progrssive_Jedi; 05-15-2016, 11:30 PM.

The thing is the opponent does matter. Do you think Golovkin would be able to do the same thing to A-level fighters? I probably shouldn't ask you that you think he's a god and an ATG already...

There are many fighters who clearly look terrible on weigh in day due to killing their body to make weight, Canelo is not one of them.
This is drained;
This is not;
Fighters like Floyd, Pac, Bhop can do so comfortably as they fight at or around their natural weight.

If you allow yourself to gain 15+lbs of fat between fights, which many fighters do, you are able to lose that comfortably through camp. It is not a remotely difficult task over 8-12 weeks.
Most people don't even realize how simple making weight can be when done correctly. Some guys cut all the way to the weight through training/nutrition alone, some get to within 7-10lbs of the weight and sweat/dehydrate down in the final 24-48 hours, some stay at the weight year round...there are many methods depending on what a fighter prefers.
It's very clear to see when a fighter has had to drain his way down to a weight.
