Doesn't matter how it's phrased
No matter how you phrase it, it still is impressive. Who in last five years has faced and beaten more top ten fighters than GGG. (Kinda goes against this idea GGG is looking for soft touches).
Phrase it how you will:
Ok, in last four years and at the hieght of GGG fame. What's it matter. In last five years no one has faced more top ten fighters than GGG.
Or, since both Canelo, Kovalev, Ward, and GGG has been with HBO, GGG's the one fighting more top ten fighters.
The reason him signing with HBO (four years ago) matters is because it marks a turning point in GGG career. He is finally recognized and worth a risk to top fighters--although not all.
One, coming to the states and being under k2 made him able to land bigger fights. Second, GGG was with HBO, meaning top fighters would be more willing to get in the ring with him.
Before GGG was on HBO he had a hell of a time getting people to fight him. Even now he's high risk and lower reward.Last edited by Progrssive_Jedi; 05-15-2016, 11:30 PM.Comment

Lot of people Finnair get rich of this. I know Money May putting like 200k on Canelo. I'm put a few hundred on him, easily. Easy money. :*******:Comment

Of course I have to think he's a god, he can't possibly be a man with a stellar amateur record, you know like we kiss ward and floyd's @ss over right. Can't respect him because well you know well known stars won't get in the ring against him. Can't be because maybe just maybe others see something in this guy you don't. When Canelo walks around lighter than him you can call him the smaller man, plenty of mofo's in this sport melting down to fight in divisions where they have glaring advantages in. So perhaps now that you've spent the past god knows how long bashing maybe just maybe you can turn around and take other boxers to task for not being up to snuff in exposing this hype job. Since that's what he is right? A hype job that fights bums isn't it what you call him? Well ok, he's a hype job who fights bums...yet people you probably love to watch and gloss on about want no part of him.lol you're an idiot. C'mon man you really aren't this ****** are you? Are you still believing that Golovkin, a man who's weighed in at 160 for 10 years is still the smaller man?
The thing is the opponent does matter. Do you think Golovkin would be able to do the same thing to A-level fighters? I probably shouldn't ask you that you think he's a god and an ATG already...Comment

If you have to cut 20+lbs in order to make weight, then I can guarantee you that you're not doing it "comfortably".People need to stop kidding themselves about Canelo killing himself to make weight. He makes 155 comfortably, he looks healthy and full at the weight and he/his team say they can still make 154 no problem for a good fight.
There are many fighters who clearly look terrible on weigh in day due to killing their body to make weight, Canelo is not one of them.
This is drained;

This is not;

Fighters like Floyd, Pac, Bhop can do so comfortably as they fight at or around their natural weight.Comment

That's absolute nonsense.
If you allow yourself to gain 15+lbs of fat between fights, which many fighters do, you are able to lose that comfortably through camp. It is not a remotely difficult task over 8-12 weeks.
Most people don't even realize how simple making weight can be when done correctly. Some guys cut all the way to the weight through training/nutrition alone, some get to within 7-10lbs of the weight and sweat/dehydrate down in the final 24-48 hours, some stay at the weight year round...there are many methods depending on what a fighter prefers.
It's very clear to see when a fighter has had to drain his way down to a weight.Comment
