Comments Thread For: Golovkin Opens as 4-1 Favorite To Beat Canelo

The oddsmakers in Las Vegas are confidently backing IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs) to defeat WBC champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (47-1-1, 33KOs) - if the fight comes off.

        Canelo's career as a "middleweight":
        vs. Angulo (junior middleweight)
        vs. Lara (junior middleweight)
        vs. Kirkland (junior middleweight)
        vs. Cotto (junior middleweight)
        vs. Khan (welterweight)

I think Canelo can legitimately beat GGG. This will be by far Golovkin's biggest test.

He'd have to fight the perfect fight. But he CAN do it.

As he should, only the blind nuthuggers, blind haters, and people who DKSAB would favor Canelo, at any weight. GGG will put him down and it won't be much trouble at all. Canelo does nothing better than GGG. Not one thing.

                  They indeed are.

Now what exactly is your point?

Noone is arguing that GGG has the better resume. That has nothing to do with the fact that GGG is the better fighter, the more complete fighter, and is stylistically wrong for Canelo.

But you wouldn't understand that, there is levels to boxing and you are on level 1.

Canelo has never faced a middleweight in his entire career. Little G will crush him. It's a mismatch. But hey, if I was Golovkin, I'd be chasing that fight too. The most money for the least risk. Mayweather taught Golovkin well.
