If his sole purpose and intentions are to unify 160, then why is he challenging Mayweather at 154?

The talk of fighting Mayweather is ****** and don't help his case in that respect seeing as fighting Floyd isn't helping his case towards unifying the 160 division, so I agree in that situation.

Like I said I am not defending GGG just because I am a fan of his, I was only referring to his claims of wanting to unify a division and considering how rare that is in boxing these days it should be respected in a way that a guy wants to do that before people complain about him being at one weight too long.

He was 154 at the 2002 Asian Games at age 20. 14 years later he has jumped 6 pounds through age 34.

Mayweather was 130 at age 20. 14 years later at age 34 he was fighting Cotto at 154.

24 pounds > 6 pounds. Mayweather > Little G.

so whats your point, that one guy gained weight at a later point in life? That their bodies didnt fill out at the same pace? Who cares? In addition to Floyd gaining weight sooner than GGG did, he lost his hair before GGG did. Does he get extra points for that as well?

Can we just killed the idea of Golovkin fighting Ward. Wards a light heavyweight and just as ****** as it would be for Floyd to jump to 160 it'll be just as dumb for GGG to jump to 175, also it'll be dumb for Ward to move back down to 168. It's obvious Ward has been taking steps to campaign at 175 and his super middleweight days are over.

Hagler just stayed in his comfort zone at 160 and waited them out. There's something to be said about that. All those fighters took the risk.

It's known that Golovkin offered to fight Ward & Ward turned him down. Golovkin himself said that & Ward did not deny it. If GGG & SOB do fight, it won't be @ LHW.

But hey, if he can get the Canelo fight, more power to him. He'll make much more money and gain a lot more fans through that fight. For me though, I have respect for the true warriors. Crawford-Postol, Kovalev-Ward, those are my type of fights. Feel free to disagree.

I just look at it differently. Even if it was a makeable fight, Ward doesnt have the box office appeal to warrant the same concessions that a Froch or a Chavez might get. The same way that Ward would go to 160 for Floyd but not 164 for GGG. And thats because GGG doesnt have the box office appeal that Floyd does. Different fights get made at different terms. Thats why Floyd fought Oscar and Cotto at 154, but made Canelo come to 152. Canelo didnt have the same clout that DLH and Cotto did, thus he didnt get as good a deal.....

And honestly I think the whole "164" thing was overblown. It wasnt even a fight K2 was really interested in. Not out of fear, but because it made no sense at that time (and still doesnt). They were not actively negotiating it, and all it was was an offhanded remark by Loeffler to a reporter, and it blew up into this insane thing that the GGG haters cling to tighter than a life raft on the Titanic.......
