I'd Rather See Kell vs Swift Garcia, But Haymon Not Risking THAT!
Notice how quiet Swift & Haymon are. They aren't about beating the best, they are about strategically putting "names" past their better days on their resume, for most money, least risk. The Floyd-model. Swift wouldn't fight Porter or Thurman so they have to fight each other. Swift is crickets when Brook's name comes up title for title. Swift won go near Spence, nor would he ever fight Bradley. Just a gross display how they manage Garcia. Danny can't beat either Crawford OR Postol from 140, but you'll see Garcia fight a Berto to follow suit to the other tomato cans past their prime he fought in Mags & Guerrero. Pimp Haymon just tells Garcia what street corner to go stand on, to pull off the easiest trick.
Good fight for what it is, if Brook can get exposure Stateside maybe he'll tempt Garcia at some stage that'd be cool. I'm not sure I see Vargas travelling unless Eddie actually makes him an actual sizeable offer, for him to offer something tempting remains to be seen.
I'd be ok with a Berto fight if Vargas rejects a low ball, Berto comes to fight and has momentum. Vargas is clearly the better opponent and can crack. The other names are a joke.
Eddie Hearn seems to always have "huge offers" on the table that nobody takes.
I'm starting to wonder if I should believe him.
Charles Martin got paid a (reported) 5 million for the Joshua fight. Vargas has never made a seven figure purse. Hearn knows Brook "needs" a decent fight. There's more money for this fight in the UK, so Hearn will fund it to make money. I'd say there's probably a large amount of money on the table. It always depends what other options a fighter has.
