Canelo-Khan expectations were right around where it hit. Pull up that thread that someone made a few months ago on NSB and look at the poll yourself. If I remember correctly even I voted within this particular bracket.
So Canelo does 200k more than GGG-after being on two if the largest ever ppv, and being in what a half of dozen of them.
Yes, apt comparison.
Either way, Canelo only did 200-300k more than GGG in a time he's supposed to be the top ppv star.
It was GGG first ppv fight.Last edited by Progrssive_Jedi; 05-12-2016, 11:17 PM.

i don't understand why everyone is making khan out to be some un known fighter as if most people don't remember when he was with roach and pacquiao for a good portion of roaches best years as a trainer

Well it's not the **** show that I was expecting, based on Steve Kim's tweets, but it's definitely not the numbers that I was expecting either. I'm sure it didn't help that no one asked for this fight, but maybe everyone overestimated how big of a star Canelo really is. But then again, from what I understand, Mayweather/Berto only drew 400k-550k buys too. So I guess, as big of a star as a fighter is, it just comes down to putting on fights that we care about and want. I was expecting a more sales, because I thought that Khan and Canelo were big in their respective countries, which may have a trickle down effect. But I guess not.Last edited by Left2theliver; 05-13-2016, 12:19 AM.

So yeah, you can keep using Glaser, or boxingscene polls, or promoters words (let's not forget that Oscar predicted 1m+ buys.
Only in your little dream world is predicting 1m and getting 460k equal "right about where it hit". I'm sure asking you to incorporate the idea of fighters' purses into whether or not a PPV is a success is an exercise in futility as well.
You can continue to b1tch about Golovkin and coming up with more and more bull**** to suit your agenda. It wont change facts.
