You gotta burn it down before you can start over again.

What options does Golovkin have?
GGG needs Alvarez much more than Alvarez needs him.
what can canelo do? fight ggg at 160 and get ko'd, duck ggg and if he moves up to 160 he exposes himself as a coward who ducked ggg. if he stays at 155 he has no belt and is just fighting random cherry picks.

I love boxing and I'm happy that mismatch didn't do big numbers. I was hoping for even lower numbers, to teach Canelo and Oscar a lesson. In my opinion, it's not so much because boxing is declining, it has more to do with the fight presented as well as the opponent (khan) and the endless PPVs for meaningless fights.

No matter what, that isn't a bad PPV these days. Like some have said, with Khan, in England, it would've drawn more interest. But still, can't really complain. I think somewhere around 60/40 $$ split in favor of Canelo would be a fair contract... and if he still wants a CW negotiate that too, meet in the middle. No reason to draw lines in the sand yet.

No one gives a crap about Golovkin vs. some novice like Zurdo at 168. Golovkin needs Canelo bad, otherwise his legacy will be ducking his greatest challenge, Andre Ward.

For the longest time Khan has told everyone who'd listen that he is a big draw and that Floyd would make a lot more money fighting him than fighting other "low rated" boxers.
Well, well. What do you know. Khan is a joke like we all know. If he was such a big star this fight should have generated no less than 700k PPV.
Khan is so delusional and it's not about to change. One thing this proves though is that Floyd is def the mega star he claims to be or perceived to be or truly he is.
His fight with Cotto brought in 1.4m PPV and with Canelo it brought in 2.2m PPV, yet the supposedly boxing superstar Canelo brought in less than a million vs Cotto and less than half a mil against Khan.
