You'd think pbc knows to keep the big names active and have the up and comers on the undercard. It's not that complicated really but i guess thats what happens when you overpay them

GGG just fought as a -10000 favorite. Believe Gonazales was a -3750 favorite. Crawford was like a -1200 favorite. Kovalev is fighting his next opponent in July as a -6000 favorite last I saw. These are the "home of boxing" fights. And this ain't nothing new. For HBO or anyone else. Its been going on cuz boxing is a circus with this sorta subpar matchmaking that just wants to constantly build names & do little fighting between those names with maximum marination.
HBO descending into a joke does not excuse PBC from making the same mistakes. For every Thurman-Porter, we get 20 Dirrell-Caparellos. They fooled my ass man. I really thought they were gonna make quality matchups on broadcast and cable TV. Instead the haters turned out to be right, just overpaid mismatches.

The summer dates make a lot of sense when you think about it as a dead period in a lot of sports, including boxing (especially with HBO), so I like this a lot from that perspective.

This is a Summer Olympics year, so there will be that going on in August, and there's the possibilyt of that June date potentially conflict with the NBA/NHL playoffs, and July 2nd being 4th of July weekend.

But whatever, boxing fans will have some boxing this summer...curious to see what kind of fights these we get on these date.

Artur Beterbiev and Adriezj(sp) Fonfara are the main event fighters for the first two shows (with Beterbiev's fight card having a 50/50, quality prospects facing off, bout as the chief support).

5 stages of grief I guess, lol

I'm not defending anyone so much as asking why you say silly **** about PBC, but ignore HBO with arguably worse matchmaking than PBC these days unless they are making people pay $50+ to watch a fight on PPV. Its some silly fanboy type ****. No one in boxing is doing anything close, even with boxing capabilities in making big fights, to what the UFC is doing with consistently making the competitive fights at all levels. Everyone in boxing eases off the gas when big fights start getting talked about. No one has a monopoly on that ****.

Damn I like the idea. It's like Friday Night fights on summer long, but on Saturday.

And all those sat night shows are cut moving these fights to Friday night with the exception of 3 sat night shows total the entire year. There will be no ABC cards. And they are debuting with Beterbiev in a mismatch. Based on this info don't expect the haymon big names like Thurman, Garcia, ect to be fighting on ESPN like last year. It's going to be haymon prospects and B and C class fighters.

Literally everything from the original press release of ESPN replacing FNF with PBC has been sc****d.

They canceled FNF so they can go 8 months without boxing? and when they do come back it will be for only 3 months of 2016.
