Why would PBC put their best possible match-ups on a time buy? That would be idiotic don't you think. That's why the better fights wind up on SHO and they throw us a fairly decent or fan demanded fight on the time buys here and there.HBO descending into a joke does not excuse PBC from making the same mistakes. For every Thurman-Porter, we get 20 Dirrell-Caparellos. They fooled my ass man. I really thought they were gonna make quality matchups on broadcast and cable TV. Instead the haters turned out to be right, just overpaid mismatches.
I don't expect to see any true PBC barn burners until the time buys are up unless the fight is in high demand.
To me the time buys are to bring the casual fans back to boxing and to build fighter profiles. So once those time buys are up they can say to X network we have a proven product so pay us for the content.
Will it work out that way, I really don't know but I'm going to enjoy every fight from every outfit I can see on TV.Comment

if ur going by recent history his fights are blowing hbo's out of the water not to mention and the thing people love to forget because its the hipster thing to do is bash pbc is there has been great fights on pretty much every pbc card for awhile nowComment

have u not seen seen showtimes and pbc upcoming schedules? i guess well just ignore that partHBO is ass. I've said so hundreds of times over the past 2 years. With that said, Crawford-Postol, Kovalev-Ward, and, potentially, Canelo-Golovkin will blow PBC out of the water. The thing that is infuriating is that it doesn't have to be that way. Thurman-Porter is great, but why stop there? It also sucks that the best matchups these days go to Showtime. I have Showtime, but I wish these fights were on free TV. DeGale-Bute, Jack-Bute, DeGale-Jack, Wilder-Povetkin, Jacobs-Quillin, LSC-Frampton, all these fights are top notch, but doesn't the fact that they are airing on Showtime defeat the purpose of PBC?Comment

The only decent PBC fight (Thurman-Porter) is a Showtime fight in disguise. Why would Haymon get credit for the fights on Showtime? The entire reason for the creation of PBC was to get away from subscription cable channels that limit boxing's audience.
What happened to #FreeBoxing4All? What a sham!Comment

My take on the situation is that Haymon signed all these top fighters and prospects to have the prospects fight the prospects on free PBC, and have the top fighters fight stay busy fights on free PBC. He saves the top fighters vs top fighters for Showtime. I mean, you have to make some money from this. Show the top brass vs no-hopers on free tv. Give you a taste of who these fighters are. Then showcase them in big fights on a premium network, like Showtime. You will always have prospects vs prospects on PBC though. And those are still good fights.HBO is ass.
