Canelo is good, against old or small

Canelo is a good fighter, but we've seen him with old or smaller guys. Lara tells us a lot about Canelo, but it doesn't tell us what he can do against GGG.

GGG wins this fight in 9, because by ten Canelo will be broken down. Canelo will have given a decent fight though. It won't be enough.

Also there are 18 pro divisions/14 amateur divisions.

Pro world champions belts are awarded every title fights/6 months.

Plus there are 4 belts/federations WBO/WBC/IBF/WBA, not counting IBO and Ring Mag lineal belts.

Obviously some pro divisions are partly unified but overhall I think a lot more pro belts are awarded.

So the competition is somehow tougher in amateur boxing, it takes probably more boxing talent to get the gold in amateurs.

That's why only the greatest american fighters won those trophies, but the opposite doesn't work (could you imagine Kelly Pavlik winning a gold medal as an amateur?).

Of course, it doesn't mean being a great amateur/technician makes you systematically a great pro boxer, it takes more durability and maturity.

It takes a lot more than that to successfully adapt to the pro game, so you cannot deny that Golovkin is an outstanding all-around fighter.

While I like your post, and mostly agree..... plenty of Olympic medalists were not successful as a pro, they are apples/oranges..... kinda like rugby league stars who switch to union, and vice-versa.

And it also comes down to styles.

I don't know if Pacquiao would have had a successful Olympic career.

But that is why a lot of folks are a little disappointed that Golovkin is not taking on the difficult opponents, despite the fact that he "doesn't have to"..... like Canelo/Cotto/Pacquiao/Mayweather all did.

Gennady appears to be in no hurry to get in there with a mover/spoiler, not one..... all of his opponents have been " available ".

And what gets lost is the competition level both have faced. Canelo is a HUGE step up in class for GGG. GGG isn't even the best fighter Canelo has faced.
So in other words, you don't like GGG....

Remember when Cotto had that belt and Freddie was like " who's Golovkin? I've only seen him fight once I think" now he's the best P4P in the world all of a sudden lol...

Lara called out both and only 1 (Canelo) stepped up. Quit assigning the guy wins on fights he's scared to take.

Freddie's just as full of ***** as anyone else.
Honestly, after GGG lays the beat down on Alvarez, I would like to see Alvarez face some of the opponents that GGG has fought. That is if he doesn't suckle back down to the SWW/LMW division where he can cut weight and bully around smaller fighters come fight night. Opponents like Murray, Lemieux, and maybe even Stevens. A litmus test so to speak. Just to see how Alvarez compares to some of the so called 'tomato cans' GGG has annihilated. Canelo has always been 'marketed' as some man-child phenom, and this scheme has set him up against true HOF's like Cotto, Mosely, and Mayweather. Won two by decision over (let's face it) "passed their primers",....and got "SCHOOLED" for his first loss and left the ring with a jab spanked red face. Not exactly a spectacular shining record when you sit back and look at the big picture.
I'm not a Canelo hater by any stretch, and I'm still a fan of his, but GGG is the 'goods' and I know the goods when I see it. This catch weight BS is a real disappointment from the Canelo side, and in the end it will do more harm to him than good.

                      •CANELO THE #1 P4P BOXER IN THE SPORT•

.......AND STILL THE LINEAL WBC MIDDLEWEIGHT DIAMOND BELT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD!

                      STYLES MAKE FIGHTS

CANELO IS ONLY 25 & KEEPS GETTING BETTER EVERY FIGHT HE IS TOO GIFTED & TOO SKILLED FOR ggg

ggg IS ALREADY 34 AND HAS PEAKED WHAT HE BRINGS TO THE TABLE WONT BE ENOUGH TO BEAT CANELO

CANELO will put on a clinic against ggg , don't be surprised when he makes it look easy, then puts ggg to sleep!

James Kirkland + Alfredo Angulo + Carlos Baldomir = ggg

CANELO will outclass ggg then knock him out cold probably landing on his face since ggg thinks defense means blocking punches with his face, that's a recipe for disaster against CANELO!

It's not a matter of "will" CANELO defeat ggg , the question is how will he chose to do it, school ggg and toy with him for twelve rounds , or will he slam down the guillotine & decapitate ggg early?!
