No it isn't!!!! His life will not end after this fight. By being weight-drained and losing he will set himself back 5 years, when he was high risk and no reward fighter. There will be no fools, wanting to share the ring with him, if they don't have to. By holding belts, GGG creates future possibilities. Let Canelo concede the belt, if he is not willing to fight for it at the division limit. Eventually he will have to fight GGG anyway. But he will not be calling the shots.

Now, even if GGG wins while being 155, these tricks will not do his body any good in the long run. He should maximize his potential. The money will come. He is not starving.

Excellent post! GGG ducked Ward by not offering him a fight at 168lbs. If he was serious, he would've. That's why Ward calls him "Little G". They think GGG is GOD like they did with Floyd. Smh. They are ignorant and will never learn. But they want to call fighters like Canelo names, Manny, Cotto, and Ward. Last time I checked, all of these fighters earned their stripes and will fight anybody. GGG will too BUT he lacks that defining fight or fights. He needs a challenge like Canelo said. When was Pacquiao ranked @ 154? When was Algieri ranked @ 147? When was Roy Jones Jr. ranked @ anything above 175 before he got a shot at Ruiz? Again, this is not new!

Canelo is one of the most protected fighters currently active in boxing. Which isn't to say he isn't incredibly good. But he has been protected.

He has very limited amateur experience and has had powerful and influential management for the better part of a decade. He's been given the right fights at the right time all throughout his career.

That's how a 25 year old becomes 46-1-1.

Lara and Trout in the context of when he fought them were his most dangerous opponents outside of Floyd. Neither of the 3 are known for their ability to KO fighters.

Canelo just doesn't want to fight a divisional boogieman, and he alone is the one who is going to look bad for it. There is no way for him or anybody to spin this.

GGG is here now. He's the lineal champion of an *actual* division (160) and that's where he wants to fight.

GGG saying he'd drop a few pounds to fight Floyd is not the same thing, it's the same as Hopkins calling Floyd out to fight at 160. It's a negotiation-nonstarter in order to generate a headline. It also wouldn't involve fighting for the title of a specific weight limit. But more importantly it will NEVER actually happen.

Canelo and GGG is a fight that ought to exist in the real world, it shouldn't be thought of as a fantasy fight because these fighters are the same size.

Khan didn't deserve it more than GGG. GGG agreed to let Canelo have a voluntary defense. Canelo chose Khan, and GGG chose Wade. My point is that Khan was not ranked MW, but neither was Pacquiao a ranked SWW, nor was Roy Jones Jr. a ranked HW. In the end those guys got a shot because of their name and fame!
