RNS tried to make Ward-Shabranskyy. GBP turned it down?

People were suggesting Ward face Gonzalez not too long ago so this should be a decent step in the right direction. At this point Ward really needs to get more rounds in before facing Kov so I don't care who he's facing long as it's a true LHW contender. Not surprised. Shabranskyy is not ready for that level yet. He's got 16 fights and his biggest win is Gonzalez. Plus he's only been a pro for 3.5 years.Comment

Meh. Not necessarily. Slava Shabransky's a good if still unproven prospect, I'd want some decent $s to put him in with Ward this early too. They just looking after their financial interests - can easily see Slava working his way into a mando slot in the next coupla years.
That said, I don't know how much was offered, although LaBomba got $1mil (with some arm twisting from Haymon) for fighting Ward at a similar stage in his career, and I'd say Shabransky was a better prospect.
Shame though, I would have liked this fight.Comment

did you even watch his last fight? All that whining and crying about "oh he may pull out!"
"all andre bored does is run, head butt and wrestle"
All the while you can count on your hand how many clinches that happened in his fight with Barrera, and before that one too. There was one head butt
Cry me a river......your first year in the gym you're taught how to clinch and how to get out of it.......you dont have any ammo to criticize the guy so you pull bull***** out your assComment

this is just hbo f-uckking with ward because they are tired of his sh-it. we have no money left....i mean its probably somewhat true but at the same time giving ward 2 million dollars isn't the smartest decision. make him fight kovalev or nothing. a good way to get around that contract that they have with ward. oops no money you haev to fight kovalev next.Last edited by daggum; 05-05-2016, 07:19 AM.Comment
