I don't get why he can go to 154 for Floyd but it's impossible for him to go to 155 for Canelo.

Same reason why Ward would go down to 160 for Floyd, but couldn't make 164 for Golovkin.

Plus one more reason ... Golovkin is mando for Canelo's WBC MW title and the sanctioned weight limit for the fight would be 160.

The situations are only different in that Golovkin would go all the way down to 154, Floyd's own division, Ward wanted Floyd to come up 6lbs for him.

The point I was making is that GGG and Ward would both drop more weight for Floyd than for anybody else for the same reasons:

Floyd is naturally much smaller than them and the money would make it worth doing.

Yes but Lemieux's attacks are kinda predictable for an elite fighter.

Canelo might not be as heavy handed as Lemieux, but his counterpunches would sometimes land and surprise GGG, a surprising punch can hurt more than a bigger but predictable hayemaker.
