He's had 9 fights on HBO, and they've spent at least the last two years working to sell him as Mexican to the Spanish-speaking fanbase in SoCal.
You add that he's compounded that with his tickets being priced at $30 and below, and it's not too hard to see the "amazing attendance numbers" story carry forward (scaling down The Forum to seat only 12k for their "sellout" was also a nice touch of promotional bull****).
The Forum seats 17,500 people at it's capacity; Gennady Golovkin has yet to sell 17k tickets when even pushing $30 tickets.

So you know who the A side is with Canelo-Golovkin then. See you at 1:55.Comment

Excellent rating.1.325M is correct. It appears that Showbuzz Daily does not report segments that last less than 10 minutes and I confused the post fight segment with the actual fight.
Sports TV ratings is reporting 1.325M. I apologize for the misinformation. Great rating for Golovkin.

Negotiations when he already has 2 fights on the way? He's got his big fight and he went up to make it happen. CCC better start dieting to make his. That Ward ship has sailed. The difference between Golovkin and Ward is that Golovkin knows when he's the B-Side. He knows he's the B-Side to Canelo.
If I was Golovkin's team I'd open up negotiations with Ward and offer a very fair 70/30 split to see how serious he really is about fighting.
Better attendance numbers and better ratings.
Now we know who is who.Comment

pretty good. i was expecting it to be a couple 100k lower since there didn't seem to be much buzz around the fight
i think that if golovkin vs BJS or jacobs took place on regular HBO the ratings would equal or surpass what cotto did vs geale last yearComment

It was a higher attendance that Marquez-Alvarado did. He's had 9 fights on HBO, and they've spent at least the last two years working to sell him as Mexican to the Spanish-speaking fanbase in SoCal.

And that fight offered 2 for 1 ticket offers:
And to celebrate boxing’s return to the Forum, any $150 or $75 ticket, purchased at the box office or via Ticketmaster on April 1, between Noon and 4:00 p.m. PT, will include a complimentary companion ticket to the inaugural brawl. Limit six (6) tickets per order. - See more at: http://www.toprank.com/news/boxing-p....uyIQ35Bb.dpufComment

that's fine too, but, as you are custom to do, that has no impact on the information that is being requested.
Vs Chad Dawson, vs Paul Smith, and vs. Sullivan Barrera all did over $700k at the live gate at Oracle Arena.
What was the revenue on the 16,500 that saw Golovkin fight Dominic Wade? I doubt that Golovkin-Wade got up to $1m, especially after moving all of those $30 and less tickets.Comment
